In addition to owning four beautiful standard poodles throughout my childhood, I've accumulated years of experience in very large, high-energy, off-leash packs of 20 or more dogs on a daily basis and in all kinds of weather at Green Beagle Lodge, one of the best dog daycare and boarding facilities in the country. I stopped working at the Lodge to pursue other interests, but by the time I left I was training to become a Supervisor. During my tenure at the lodge, I became close friends with Chihuahuas, Great Danes, and pretty much everything else in between. I was a "Pack Leader," which means I was in charge of making sure all the dogs in my group were calm, got along, and didn't fight, including the occasional nervous dog we would get from time to time, meaning I became very practiced at defusing situations where dogs (of all sorts) would sometimes showcase aggressive or territorial displays. Once I’d worked there long enough for our regular dogs that were there a lot to get to know me, keeping them calm became as easy as being there most of the time. Green Beagle Lodge is not a "breedist" facility, meaning they welcomed Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, and all those other breeds that some of our competitors were sadly apprehensive about, and now I adore them. Now that I was the "dog guy," I became many of friends' go-to pet-sitter. So basically if you have less than 20 dogs, it'll be a breeze for me and your fluffy buddy to get along great.
