Pet care experience
Hello! I have taken care of dogs of many different kinds since I was 11. Along with my own dogs, I have walked, bathed, boarded, and spent time with friends and family’s pets. I recently lost my border collie mix, Luna, who I spent 15 wonderful years with. In no small part thanks to Luna I have experience with all canine life stages, from house-training and basic obedience all the way through to senior care. I also am very outdoorsy, and have experience working with and caring for dogs in a back country setting as well.

Brooklyn is dynamite with all kinds of animals. She has grown up with both kitties and puppies and helped them grow to be outstanding cats and dogs. Brooklyn's dog Luna is 13 and one of the most youthful 13 year old dogs I know. Brooklyn takes Luna on long walks and hikes nearly everyday and loves her mama to no end. Brooklyn is always volunteering to take her friends' dogs to the park and on lovely hikes. She also knows the proper methods to communicate effectively with dogs.
Brooklyn is intuitive, perceptive, and compassionate with animals -- she treats them as individuals with differing needs, and takes into account what narratives she knows of their past and present to identify with them and offer insight into their behavior. She does so with good humor, kindness, and warmth. I trust her with my two beloved cats and crazy dog over anyone else. Highly recommended to care for animals.

When meeting a new dog I am very patient with the process—it can take time to build comfort and trust, and I'm willing to take as long as we need to to establish a rapport. Until I really understand how a dog moves through and reacts to their environment I try to stay away from highly stimulating places like busy streets and parks, and then move toward those places as I build a relationship with the dog and we get to know each other better.

A typical day
I love happy dogs, and I love making dogs happy! Whatever your dog’s favorite sort of adventure is, I’m in—whether that means going to a safe designated off-leash area to chase a ball, walking for miles through the neighborhood, or stopping to sniff every single tree.

Availability
I currently work part-time so I am pretty available, especially during week days. I am free after 3 pm most days (and all day on Monday/Thursday) for potty breaks, playtime, or exploring the neighborhood on a long walk!
