I used to be an overnight supervisor at a doggy boarding facility and have taken course's on dog body language and group play as well as a light grooming course. I also know what signs to look for if your doggy is not feeling well! Having had cared for 2 senior dogs until their end of life and being a supervisor caring for over 50 dogs per night i have keen eye for detail and notice when things may not being going well. I know when/how to intervene. I also know where many of the local vets are. I know doggy cpr and the heimlich maneuver. I've administered several medications including insulin at one point, but may need to be refreshed on that. I have dog sat and walked several dogs in the past. I also have experience in working with small animals such as rats, guinea pigs, fish, and rabbits. I also worked in 2 dog grooming facilities and I know the importance of daily brushing/grooming with certain breeds. I am 25 years old and have lived with dogs my whole life and it would be an honor to work with your dog! I promise to do everything I can to make your dog happy and healthy while I am with them !

Brooke came and stayed with our pets for 10 days. Our sweet dog is older and has some serious health issues and so she needs more care (diapering and medicines) than is likely the case for most doggos. All of the animals were well cared for and happy when we returned. We got pictures and check ins nearly every day which was a lovely way to stay connected to our furry friends.

Brooke was able to take our reservation last minute due to a cancellation…which made us thrilled. She was consistent with sending pictures and updates of our dogs and you could just tell that she was very invested in making sure that our lil pups were well taken care of. I will most definitely be booking Brooke again!

So having worked with many dogs over the years I've seen several ways a dog reacts when their owners go away. In some instances they don't react well and may act out. So i never leave anything out even if they were really good about it with you. Over time this will become more relaxed as we establish a relationship, but in the beginning stages i kind of act as if they were a toddler that can't be left alone for too long.

I owned beagles throught my life so I really know how to deal with hound dogs! If your dog has any special needs I would like to know before handling them for your pets safety. I have worked with all kinds of dog breeds so any dog of age or breed is welcome! If i don't feel comfortable or feel i don't know enough to do the job right i will polietly decline.
A typical day
I will walk your dog and play with them while I stay with them! I am also more than willing to give any medications just be sure to leave directions! My late dog had a seizure disorder as well as several others so I know how to deal with senior/hospice care. I usually like to stick to the dogs schedule so its not that different while your gone. Most dogs love consistency and may react poorly if things are changed up too much. But i love to do fun things like getting pup cups, or maybe even a dog park if they do okay with that sort of thing.

Availability
I only do light work right nail such as mobile nail trims and dog walking. I like to be at home a lot so thats plenty of time with your fur babies! The only other times i may be out were if i needed to go get food, a doctors appointment, or if there was an emergency.
