Pet care experience
* Moved back to NC from sunny San Diego. I’m originally from Wilmington by way of Raleigh. * I came to this world as an animal lover; contrary to popular belief, I love cats and dogs. * My professional background is in clinical research administration. I’m also a STEM educator, health and wellness coach and yoga teacher; so I have the zen calm vibes. * I especially love those senior doggies! I’ve grown up with and around animals—I’ve been walking dogs since I could walk! I’ve been dog sitting/house sitting since I was in college, 2007, when there was craigslist! I joined Rover in 2023 and I wish I did it sooner, I’ve enjoyed the novelty of it and take the responsibility of caring for your pet as an honor and privilege. My dog died in February, she was 17 years old and among other things she taught me, she taught me balance of being a dog parent, giving nurturing love and being the alpha, leading our “pack” and setting the foundation for our bond so that she felt safe with my lead, which created an environment for her to have happier, healthier, and more comfortable life. I apply the same principles to being with your pet. I want them to feel safe with me there, I want them to be happy with me there. By day 3 of my being out of town, my dog was typically showing signs of sadness, food refusal, lethargy, etc. It was an awful feeling and I couldn’t fully enjoy myself. There’s peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and comfortable with your being away. My goal is: when you leave for vacation, your pet and I are on vacay too!

Brittany is the best! Our second time using her to walk our dog. This time we were out of town for vacation and were nervous to leave our dog for a week but Brittany made us feel comfortable. She sent plenty of pictures, videos, and updates. I can tell my dog really likes her and my dog doesn’t warm up to everyone, Brittany is so patient with her. I can’t recommend her enough.
Brittany is fantastic! She was so sweet with our dog. Gave our dog yummy healthy treats and was a great communicator. Highly recommend!

the more I know, the better! I love the details, the special rules on food, meds, etc. Please also share if they have separate anxiety and/or attachment, aggression, particular behaviors or tendencies (e.g throwing up if they eat too fast), and God forbid, but if necessary: tips on when it's time to go to the vet or Emergency vet (e.g "daily weird morning sneeze fit is normal")
A typical day
I love giving doggies cognitive toys and sniff mats; working with them to enhance those innate canine instincts. My favorite dog walking park of all time is Freedom Park, I love going mid day when it's less crowded. Also, for general socializing I like to walk doggies in Home Depot/Lowes/Petsmart/Petco pretty much any place that is dog friendly. My daily dog goal, 1. Catch them smiling, that's how I KNOW they're having a good time 2. and that they're [literally] dog tired, exhausted from all the good fun had!
