Pet care experience
My experience with dog care started at 15, when I began doing basic kennel care and dog training at my local animal shelter. In the 12 years since then, my experience has spanned from dogsitting to fostering special needs canines (many from puppy mill backgrounds), and everything in between. The majority of my dogsitting clients have been shy and special needs pups, and I'm very comfortable caring for dogs who need a more specific match with a sitter. I've also worked with many high energy pups (I love canine partners for my daily jogs) and I have a wealth of experience with training, from the basics up to long-term behavioral adjustments. My experience has shown me that every dog is different, and I take pride in my ability to adeptly care for each canine personality I meet!

Apart from the basic information about a dog's preferences, I love it when owners tell me about their dog's quirky habits. My goal is to provide my clients' dogs with the best care possible, and part of that is catering to their eccentricities, the same way that their family would. I have no preferences or prejudices regarding breed.
A typical day
Whenever I pet sit, I ask clients about the activities their pet enjoys most. If your dog likes to run, we'll go for runs. If fetch is more their style, then fetch it is. While I prefer to leave activity planning up to the animals, I also coordinated enrichment for shelter dogs and can certainly think up new, interesting pass times to try out!
