I love the unconditional love and loyalty that pets have for their owners and caregivers. I've always had a special love for animals since I can remember, so being a petsitter has been an amazing opportunity for me to spend time with loving pups and kitties that need extra care while their pet parents are away. I love both cats and dogs so much, and have been immersed in a culture and family-life filled with the love and affection of both types of pets. I have been dog sitting for the past 9 years, which started in my hometown, Buffalo, NY, after I graduated from college in 2010. I repeatedly cared for two Kerry-Blue Terriers, two Black-Labs, and (ironically, hehe) a Brittany Spaniel, all of which I built strong bonds with over the time I spent in Buffalo, before moving out to SAn Diego. At the office, I quickly became the office pet sitter and loved caring for: Disco, Xavier, Luna, Henry, and Oliver. The pups posing so handsomely in my profile picture are Sophie and Dexter, whom are two of my old “roommates” that I lived with for two years and cared for while their mommy roommate was away. Dexter (giant yorkie) LOVED running with me and could run long distances like nobody could imagine! I thoroughly enjoy walks and runs with my puppy pals. There's nothing better than running alongside a four legged friend, it makes the distances so much more surmountable! I am comfortable taking your dog to the park or dog park, whatever the pups’ preference for getting exercise. As a San Diego implant from Buffalo, NY, I will make sure your dog gets cared for in any type of weather conditions. We're going out rain or shine! I enjoy snuggling with the pups at night, too, if that is what they are used to doing with their owner. My schedule is flexible, so I am happy and able to attune myself to your and your furry babies’ needs and schedule. I appreciate receiving detailed instructions for care because I am a detail-oriented person and I feel it helps assure my clients’ comfort-level for the safety and care of their furry family members. I not only make sure to stick with those instructions, I make it a priority to go above and beyond for my clients because a trusting relationship between me and pet owners is in-turn the most beneficial to the animal. As a house + pet sitter, I believe housesitting is it best option for pet owners who may be hesitant to leave their pet or pets for the first time. To me, housesitting with your pet is the perfect solution because it helps owners feel more secure when away from their pet(s), just by the sheer fact that their furry family is home safe & sound at their home base, and maintaining their daily routine. Another awesome benefit of hiring a house sitter, is the increased personal time the pet has with a sitter. Because house sitters stay at your home overnight, there is much more opportunity for pet owners to check-in, and for the house sitter to send photos and videos more frequently. While you are away, I will also be looking after your home and performing any duties around the house duties that need to be maintained. When pet owners prepare to travel, they have a lot on their plates to get organized and ready, which is were I come in. As your house sitter, I am happy to take on tasks, upon request, to make sure the house is well-maintained. I will collect your mail & packages, prepare intricate meals for you pet(s), take out the trash cans on garbage day, forward phone messages, and more! I have a great appreciation for those that garden (like my mom and sister with their green thumbs), so I am happy to water your flowers or garden as well. I like to leave a pet owner's home just a little cleaner than when I arrived. Depending on the time of day a pet owner is arriving home, I generally like to leave the pet owner with little clean-up as possible. Their pet(s) will surely be ready for some serious snuggles and that is most important to tend to upon reuniting with your furry family. Therefore, as a house sitting visit comes to an end, I generally like to complete the following clean-up before your arrival home: I will strip the linens and wash used bedding and towels; I will wash used dishes, run the dishwasher, and put clean dishes away; with time permitting, I will sometimes vacuum, sweep, and fold clean laundry. If there is anything else a pet owner needs while away, I'm happy to accommodate, when at all possible. Here are some examples of odd tasks I've completed recently: i've sent a forgotten passport to a client who was deployed in the Asian Pacific; I've bathed and brushed the teeth of a super-hygienic pup, at the end of each evening during my stay; I've provided day care for a pet or pets for just a few hours.
