a caring friend ♥️

Pet care experience

I've always loved animals; caring for others brings me a lot of joy. I treat every animal as if they were my own, and take the time to get to know them and understand their unique personalities, quirks, and interests. I am very detail-oriented and thorough, and will actively engage with your pet in doing whatever activities they enjoy most! I send full written reports after every visit, along with cute pictures, so you will be receiving regular updates and see how your babies are doing & what they have been up to while you are away! :-) I have a lot of experience working with and caring for animals, primarily horses, dogs, and cats, although I have cared for many other species as well (including various reptiles, rodents, and farm animals). I love to make new friends, regardless of species! ♡ I had the privilege of being able to do full-time volunteer work every summer throughout my teenage years, and I gained a lot of valuable experience caring for animals and children in many different settings. I am extremely grateful to be able to support myself as an adult while still getting to do a job I am very passionate about!! ____

Britta never seems to miss! She does so great with both of our pets and is fantastic in communicating full summaries of her time with them, along with plenty of photos which makes travel and time away so much easier and less stressful!

Britta is a very caring and communicative sitter who has a special skill with animals— she immediately earned the love, trust, and obedience of our 65-lb baby. She is very thorough with instructions and always goes the extra mile in caring and cleaning-up. We have booked Britta for years and hope to book her for many more.

Safety, trust & environment

The #1 thing I try to be mindful of while taking care of any living being is that they all have their own specific needs and personalities--no approach is "one size fits all". In terms of safety and trust, understanding and respecting boundaries is so, so important in forming a genuine bond with an animal. I pay attention to and follow their cues; I want them to know they are safe and secure with me. Animals deserve respect just as humans do. ♡ Finally, please be assured that any and all instructions I am given will be followed first and foremost. I know that YOU know your pet best! ♡

Information Britta N. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog has any health issues or special needs I should be aware of. I'd also like to know if they have any fears or issues with specific situations that I should watch out for (ex. fear of thunderstorms, doesn't like being petted in a certain place, escape artist, cat doesn't the dog, etc.). I don't necessarily require meet and greets, especially for walks, but I do *strongly prefer* to do them, especially for bookings longer than a day or two. I find meet and greets are a great way to get to know you and your pet(s), and meeting them ahead of time helps your pet recognize me when I come back. This also ensures we are a good fit, and helps me a lot to know where everything is so I can find everything easily when I come back for the visits. *Meet & greets are always free! I also have a Google Surveys questionnaire for all new clients to fill out, so I always have all of the information in one place to refer back to if needed, and can ensure your dog is happy and comfortable. ❤️

A typical day

I will make sure all of your pet's basic physical needs (food, water, bathroom) are met, of course, and will be sure they are also getting exercise and mental stimulation during our time together. I typically try to rotate the activities that your dog enjoys the most (ex. walks around the neighborhood, running around the yard together, playing with toys, going to dog parks, playing fetch or other active games, etc..) I try to stick with whatever activities your pet enjoys the most, while making every visit a little different to keep them engaged/make sure they are getting their mental and physical stimulation while we're together! ____

I am currently in school but only have Tuesday/Thursday classes, so I'll still have plenty of time and energy to care for and play with animals! I am careful not to overbook my schedule; I want to make sure I have the energy/time to be present with the animals during our visits, and give them the undivided attention they deserve. ♡ For the above reasons, I cannot always take last minute requests, but please don't hesitate to reach out anyways! I am very flexible and will always do my best to accommodate for difficult situations/emergencies. I will be sure to regularly update my schedule if/when anything else comes up :-)
