I have always had a deep love and connection with animals, especially dogs, with a passion for "difficult" dogs. I started volunteering in animal shelters when I was 12, and was hired at 16 at a local shelter. After that, I went on to shadow a dog trainer and did professional training for several years. Currently, I have 9 dogs, 4 cats, and 2 pot-bellied pigs. All rescues, each with their own unique background and temperament. I have experience with deaf dogs (3 of mine are deaf - 4 if you count my 15 year old cattle dog who has lost her hearing in her old age!), blind dogs, fearful dogs, aggressive dogs, etc. I am very respectful of animals who need time to gain your trust and have a very special spot for them. You will not ever catch me baby talking, rushing to touch, or doing any of the typical things people often do when dogs are nervous (only making them more nervous!). Also - I love the pitties and I love seniors! I am comfortable and experienced with many training tools so if there is a special way you would like me to handle your dog I can do that, meaning if you are trying to work with your dog on something you don't have to worry about them "unlearning" what you are trying to teach when i'm around. I will also take special precautions with fearful dogs who may be a flight risk. I'm comfortable with multiple animals, as well as able to follow strict rules to keep animals separate.
