Pet care experience
In addition to my own four dogs, I've been a volunteer for Austin Dog Rescue for 8 years. I have fostered over 20 dogs in my home, of many different breeds. I have experience with puppies as young as 4 weeks, to senior dogs that need special care. I am the Operations Coordinator for Austin Dog Rescue, as well as current board member, and that should put your mind at ease, that I have a wealth of dog knowledge. I've run into about every dog situation imaginable. I love all breeds of dogs and have two pitbulls and two chihuahuas of my own. I grew up with an afghan hound and a dalmatian. I'd love to be able to care for your pup when you are not able to!

I'd like to know any behaviors that are specific to your dog. Are they prone to bolting out the door? Is there anywhere they don't like to be touched? Do they only walk on a specific kind of collar? Any food allergies? Can they have treats, or do you prefer they only have their food? I want to customize your dog's experience to what best suits them.
A typical day
For walks and activities, I will speak to you about your preferences. During hot summer months, long walks need to be before it gets too hot for the day. For daytime visits on hot days, we will play outside in your yard or inside the house. I'll discuss this with you ahead of time based on the weather forecast. I value your dog's health and there are other ways to exercise them when temps are not favorable for a walk. I have a lot of experience with keeping dogs occupied when a walk is not an option!
