We had never known life without a dog until recently when we lost Hallie and Yahoo. Hallie, a serious-minded German Shepherd/Chow mix had married Yahoo, a happy-go-lucky Yellow Lab, infamous for stealthing unguarded food (and nicknamed "the smooth criminal"). We spent fifteen years together and they were always there, (mostly) silent witnesses to some of the most important transitions in our lives. Finishing school, starting careers (where Hallie volunteered as a therapy dog for a few years), the births of our three children. Me and my dog-whispering spouse were lucky enough that we got to return the favor of being there for them as they lived out their twilight years. We missed that dog energy. But not anymore! Now, we are here (in our beautiful waterfront community) for whatever dog care means to you (walking and running, feeding, petting, grooming, giving medications, playing, socializing, fetching, swimming, discussing Dante's "Inferno"...).
