My shih-tzus have all lived into their teen years. I am able to gain the trust of many 'high maintenance' canines. I also love cats, horses and most animals and humans.

To earn respect of anyone, I practice "exquisite self care" first. In other words, I take care of myself, and offer space for others (humans and animals) to safely approach me. I do not currently have pets, though I have rescued several cats and shih-tzus over my lifetime.

Personally I like to know how aggressive or friendly a dog tends to be. I am flexible, and have a friendly demeanor - and I can work with most quirky personalities. I would be most concerned about how well they play with other dogs who might be along for the walk.
A typical day
I am a trained massage therapist - dogs really love how I scratch their backs, help them itch where its hard to reach, and rub under their jowls and behind their ears. Always ready with a yummy "t-r-e-a-t" to reward just about all obedient and adorable behavior.
