I travel often for work and when I leave my 9 animals (7 chickens, 1 dog, and 1 cat) with Brenda, who is also my mother, I know that I will have nothing to worry about. A little background on my mom. She was born and raised in southern California, but always wanted to live on a hobby farm in the mid-west, specifically, so we could have lots of animals. And so, when 7 of her 9 children were born, we moved to the mid-west and did just that. We have had every animal under the sun, from turkey's to pigs, to ponies. As my mothers household starting emptying of children, my mother became "the go to person" in town for taking in and rehabilitating animals that didn't stand a chance. Of the many animals and stories many have made lasting memories, like Jackson, and Jeze, two baby raccoons who were found under their deceased momma, and raised them until they could go to a nature center. She has bottle fed kittens, baby bunnies, and squirrels. My mom treats animals with the same love and compassion that she does her own fur babies. One thing that I have always appreciated is how she cares for them as if they are a family member, and when I say you have nothing to worry about when they are in her care, I mean it!! When it comes to care taking of your pet, I couldn't think of a better person to do the job.
