M passion is working with your pets

Pet care experience

My history with pet care: For as long as I can remember... I've known working with animals is "my calling". I've been fortunate to never have to wonder what I wanted to do with my life or which career path I could excell at and wished to pursue. I have trained and competed with dogs since I was a kid! Even back then.. I chose to spend my free time having fun training and working with my dogs. Not only was I actively involved in 4-H with my dogs (competing in both the Evergreen & Puyallup state fairs each year), I spent countless weekends competing in agility, dock diving and obedience with my own dogs, in addition to competing in conformation handling for breeders and private parties. By the time I reached adulthood, I had spent time volunteering at local animal shelter/rescue and handled at dog shows for several breeders/owners. By the age of 15, I was experienced, vigilant, responsible & hard working enough to be trusted to "kennel-sit," for a local American Pit Bull Terrier breeder during times she needed to travel to judge or compete at shows. I was solely responsible for the care and wellbeing of up to 15 adult dogs, in addition to the occasional litter of puppies. I pursued working with animals on a professional basis as soon as I was legally able at the age of 18... I've been in the field professionally ever since.. My pet care credentials & experience: Today, I am a professional pet care provider & certified dog trainer. I am Pet First Aid & CPR Certified. I graduated from the Karen Pryor Dog Trainer Foundations course, The School of Canine Science Dog Training & Behavior program as well as the Dr. Ian Dunbar Puppy Raising program... I am also both educated & experienced with the Puppy Culture program (which I cannot recommend enough as an indispensable tool for any and all puppy owners & raisers!) I am also an AKC certified Canine Good Citizen and STAR Puppy Evaluator. I completed a hands-on dog trainer apprenticeship, from which I took-and-left what I learned and observed to start my own dog training & pet care business, with the help of my, at the time, employer at a dog boarding facility, that we partnered together to morph into both a dog boarding & dog training facility. I now have several years under my belt providing local pet care services and you will find me highly recommended by those whom I have had the pleasure of working with. I have extensive personal & professional experience working with a variety of animals in addition to my experience working with canines, specifically... including experience with cats, horses, chickens & ducks, llamas, goats and various other livestock animals, reptiles & amphibians, birds, small pets such as rats, guinea pigs, ferrets, gerbils, degus and rabbits, as well as indoor and outdoor/pond fish, etc. My dog training & behavior experience includes service dog training, diabetic alert dog training, puppy temperament testing, behavioral modification, teaching obedience & puppy classes, agility training & using multiple specific training techniques such as BAT, shaping, targeting, the array of modern e-collar training techniques, etc. I have developed a deep understanding of dog behavior & cognition and I plan to continue to expand that knowledge throughout my career & my lifetime. There are few things I enjoy as much as learning about the animal brain and behavior.... and being able to use those skills & tools I gain to help animals and their human companions.

As a rescue, we were worried about leaving Logan with a stranger. No idea how it would turnout. He seemed to respond very well to Breawna. When we returned, he was relaxed and didn't seem like he missed us...so I feel it went well with him.

Hope I am never forced to have anybody else take care of my babies again !!! Because Bri will definitely be my first choice from this point forward . Could not be more satisfied or frankly impressed, !!

There are probably few people as annoyingly picky as myself when it comes to the care of my babies...but after an absolutely HORRIBLE experience with a pet sitter "forgetting," to give my spaniel her heart medication (imperative to her survival due to her heart condition), it was such a traumatizing experience, I just wasn't sure I could get to a place mentally or emotionally that I felt like any obligation or vacation was worth trusting somebody else with the care of my babies again. I reached out to Bre on a whim and she is the only person I chose to reach out to, after reading the passion and professionaliam clearly portrayed within what she had taken the time to write on her profile. After meeting her in person I felt comfortable enough to take a chance that I truly never thought I'd feel comfortable taking again. I was anticipating to be absolutely miserable overcome with anxiety the first night or two away, but that wasn't the case because Bre went the extra mile to keep open and consistent communication with me, sending updates with photos on what my pups were up to and i assume because she was aware of our experience with the last sitter, she even went as far as to sent a confirmation text each morning and evening she administered my dogs medication. I was thoroughly impressed with how far above and beyond she went to ensure that not only my pets were happy and comfortable, but also doing everything in her power to make sure that I was happy and comfortable, as well.

For years I had felt anxious leaving my dogs with previous sitters and facilities considering they are not only guardian breeds who do not take well to strangers I also now have two seniors one of which must be medicated at specific scheduled times each day the other demands consistent and engaged care and patience must be offered potty breaks in the night and throughout the day otherwise he will just go right where he is standing due to no longer being able to hold it for extended periods of time. Bre is the only pet sitter I have used since I found her and she is the only sitter I trust or plan to use, for as long as she puts up with us. I plan my trips according to her availability because the peace of mind is worth it knowing deep down their caretaker executes their care with common sense and compassionate kindness as if they were her own

Safety, trust & environment

Safety, trust & environment: I am aware of how imperative it is to be vigilant, mindful, present and careful. I take the fact that - it is better to take every possible precaution from the start, to ensure no mistakes are made, than to create an unwanted situation that forces you to wish you had - VERY seriously. I undertand the importance of attention to detail when handling live animals... especially those with special needs; whether physical or psychological.

Information Breawna B. would like to know about your pet

Information that may be important for me to know about your pets ahead of time: Temperament/personality? Temperamental quirks or behavioral struggles? Current training & how I can remain consistent & follow through with it during his or her time with me? Feeding, potty, nap/bedtime routines? Allergies or diet restrictions? Special needs or medications? NO BREED DISCRIMINATION OR RESTRICTIONS. I absolutely DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, discriminate against any dog; type or breed of dog. I love dogs of ALL sizes, colors, types, temperaments & breeds... although I must admit, I do have a soft spot for the commonly misunderstood breeds.. the bully breeds, working & guardian breeds, the mastiffs/molossers, etc. ;)

A typical day

A typical day in my care... Your pets are genuinely treated like my own during the time we spend together. S/he becomes the primary and most important component of my day to day life for the entire duration of the time s/he spends with me... I am professionally trained, experienced and comfortable with administering both oral medications and injections. The extent, and type, of exercise your dog receives while in my care is based upon your dogs health, temperament and ultimately your wishes & instructions.
