Fur and Flora LLC (full-time)

Pet care experience

Thank you for reading my profile! My name is Breanna and I am a full-time professional pet sitter. I have been on Rover.com for seven years now and started my own pet sitting business, Fur and Flora - pet and plant care LLC in 2020. My relationships with both my animal and human clients are very important to me and I strive to provide the best quality care to your pet while you're away. Please keep reading to learn how. :) I live in a safe and quiet neighborhood in Whitehall with my two dogs and rabbit. Our home has a spacious backyard with privacy fencing. All dogs are monitored while outside and inside and toys/food are kept up unless being supervised to prevent choking hazards or aggression over possessions. While we are inside, the dogs have the run of the house. The house temperature is always set according to the season and to the dog's comfort. The dogs also have their own Dog Room, with their very own couch and a doggy dresser equipped with first aid, dog accessories and treats. There's also a large selection of dog crates if your dog gets crated. Lastly, there are separate feeding stations for each dog, though I always recommend bringing your dog's own bowls. Overall, every dog that we've had here has had an amazing time. I pride myself in communication, I'm attentive to needs and I have made this my career. Not only do dogs have a good time here but they also have someone making sure they're safe. Pets and people in home: Breanna (me!!): I'm 28 years old and have been around animals my entire life, from owning them to working professionally with them. I'm a big homebody so I am usually home all day with the pets, the exception being 10:30a-3pm when I'm out providing dog walks. Bowie: He's amazing. Bowie is used to all sorts of dogs and animals and I trust him immensely to avoid trouble. He's gentle with puppies, playful with adults, and pretty much leaves the seniors alone because that's all they truly want haha! He's very good at matching personalities and it's really helped us while pet sitting. Bowie is also my meet & greet tester and the first one I introduce to a new dog. He knows boundaries, backs off when I tell him to and I've learned that if a dog isn't acting friendly with him (showing true aggression), it's a sign that the pooch isn't right for boarding. So really we all have Bowie to thank for keeping things extra safe around here! 😆 Atlas: Atlas is 3 years old and is such a great boy with dogs here. He’s a bit of a spaz during meet and greets but typically calms down after a bit. He just thinks everyone is there to be his friend. Also don't be alarmed if your older dog growls or snaps at him during a meet & greet, that's not aggression, that's your older dog telling him that he's crossed their boundaries and needs to respect his elders. If you watch Atlas, you'll see that he happily backs off and then approaches your dog in a better way that they prefer. Dogs don't communicate like we do :) I allow dogs to be dogs here as *long* as they do it appropriately. Loki: The cat that believes he's a dog. He is not shy at all whenever it comes to other dogs but your dog must be cat friendly for he/she to board here. Pricing: Because I am an experienced and professional pet sitter, I charge higher than someone who may do this part-time and have less experience than I do. Do a quick Google search on Rover pet sitters and you'll see why. Using this site also takes 25% of what I take home. I try to make myself available 24/7 and care for your pet seriously. That means that my plans don't change, I'm consistent, professional, carry my own insurance, have contracts in place for protection, send updates, and am actually providing the best care for your animal while you're away. However, I will never turn anyone down that truly cannot afford my prices. I believe that every pet deserves to be safe, loved and cared for while their owner is away. During the meet & greet, we can discuss pricing that is most comfortable with you if my rates are an issue. I am always willing to be flexible. **Additional fees** Boarding: A full day is determined by time for me. So if you drop-off at 8am, your pick-up also needs to be 8am. Example: (drop-off) 8am on Saturday - (pick-up) 8am on Sunday = 1 day. If you pick up more than 2 hours after your drop-off time but less than 5 hours, I charge a half day of daycare ($13). If you pick up more than 5 hours after your drop-off time, I charge a full day of daycare ($27). **Cancellations** My cancellation policy is strict (you need to cancel a week in advance for a full refund). I am in high demand for the services I offer and have to turn down people if you've booked me first. Therefore there are no exceptions to this policy. You can find me on Facebook and Instagram @furandflora 🌿

Breanna went above and beyond this weekend! She helped my husband have my dog at our wedding photos on top of watching her during our big weekend! So grateful we have found such a great sitter!

*REQUIREMENTS* - Dogs ARE required to be vaccinated. Please bring a copy during the meet & greet or ask for my email to send beforehand. - It is recommended (but not required) that your dog be on a flea/tick/worm preventative. I unfortunately cannot control what dogs pass to each other when they aren't protected against those things. I sanitize my house twice a day with a kennel disinfectant but there's still always a chance that your dog picks up something. - If you are boarding, please bring your own bowls & food for your pet(s). You may want to bring extra food in case you have an emergency and can't pick up on your scheduled day. You're also welcome to bring anything additional that you think may help your pup acclimate better into our home. **Unfortunately, due to improper training of the breed and NOT the breed itself, I do not allow pitbull breeds over for boarding. The only time I have experienced dog aggression here at my home has been during meet & greets with the breed. Since it seems to be a normal occurrence at this point, I've decided to just no longer allow the breed.** If your dog has separation anxiety or you aren't sure how they'll do with boarding, I do require (at least) that they come for half daycare ($13). Because I do this 24/7, it's pretty important that I'm able to get decent sleep. Since this is my home and not a kennel, there's really nowhere I can put a barking dog in the house without hearing him/her. It's not fair to me or anyone else in the house. Dogs that aren't housebroken or have destructive habits have to go inside of a crate and need to be able to be quiet during the night. Obviously it's okay if they complain a little before settling down. :) If your dog has separation anxiety but *is* house broken, no worries, he/she can cuddle in our spacious and comfy bed during the night. I am home full-time except 10:30a-3pm on weekdays to complete walks locally.

Information Breanna B. would like to know about your pet

Thankfully because of all the dogs/cats that I was able to rescue and grow up with as a child, I don’t have breed preferences. I’m well educated on breeds of animals because I understand that it’s important to know where a particular breed gets its traits and personality. I generally use this to my own advantage to better understand your pet, train, or just to play! Also, just be honest with me. It's fine if your dog isn't house trained, it's fine if your dog has separation anxiety, or has destructive habits - I just need to know before putting them in a situation that harms me, my property or the dog. These things can be avoided if you're just honest and help me come up with a solution that is comfortable for you and your wonderful pooch. If your dog is staying with me: Please be sure that your pet's profile here on Rover is UTD (up to date). It'll ask important questions like "how much does your pet get fed?", "what's your vet information?", "is your pet spayed or neutered?", etc. I will be able to access that information from here and it'll help me make sure that your pet has a comfortable stay here.

A typical day

All of us pet owners have the same thing in common – we want the very best for our pet while we’re away. The most important thing to me while watching an animal is their comfortability and their happiness. I honestly find it hard to relax until they do. If you’re looking for someone that’s going to make sure the needs of your pet is met, I’m your person. Boarding: Daycare during the day and cuddles at night. :) I usually watch TV on the couch after daycare or play video games with my boyfriend. So there's a lot of couch cuddles until bed at 9-10pm. Daycare: PUPPIES ONLY. I decided to offer these services again in 2024 but only for puppies that need to develop social skills and learn how to properly play with pups in their own size/age group. Basic obedience is offered, as it tends to come naturally while puppies are here. Puppies will be supervised at all times and crated separately for feeding but otherwise will get to enjoy a home environment at daycare. Lastly, just be honest with me. I need to know whether your dog has separation anxiety, isn't house trained, etc before putting them in a situation that harms me, my property, the dogs here, and your pooch. These things can be avoided if you're just honest and help me come up with a game-plan.

I'm a full-time, insured and professional, pet care provider. I do this all week, 24 hours a day within my own company. All of my time and resources go into my business so providing excellent care comes pretty natural to me. I also have hired pet sitters through my own company to cover any services that I may not be personally available for - these sitters are also available for meet & greets.
