I've grown up with dogs. And it's only recently that there hasn't been a dog in the family. There's a definite void. I thought this was a great way to make some canine friends in the meantime. I love dogs. I sometimes love them more than people. I've taken dog training classes so I know how to properly handle a dog. I mean I can't make them jump through hoops, but sit, stay, heel I've got covered. Many a friend and coworker have entrusted their babies to me. I'd stay at their place so their animals would have as much "normalcy" as possible. I know some dogs can get a bit antsy or depressed when their parents leave town, and I try to minimize that feeling for them. I only sit for one family at a time so your dog gets the proper care and attention, and there's no worries about about having them around dogs they don't know. I do have an 8-5 job M-F near Mt. Lookout, so your dog will be left alone for a few hours at a time. However, my lunch break affords me the chance to stop in and give them a midday break. I tend to be more of a homebody at nights so I'll be able to spend plenty of time with your dog in the evenings and on weekends. I do, however, go to the occasional play or concert and I would communicate any such events with you ahead of time so all expectations are set and met. And I'm also happy to send any text or picture updates so you're not missing your baby too much.
