I'll do it all: run, play, & cuddle

Pet care experience

I am a travel nurse working in the ICU. In college, I was a nursing student as well as playing all four years of college soccer; therefore, I am responsible, flexible, and able to manage my time wisely while keeping up my grades and performance. I've had a dog since the age of 3 and back home in Texas I was a volunteer for the Humane Society. Having a dog and volunteering provided me with the experience of caring for a variety of different dogs. I have no problem walking, feeding, running, and playing with dogs. I have experience with giving medication to dogs if needed. It would be a privilege to spend time with and care for your dogs, while having the companionship and love these adorable animals bring.

Braelyn did an outstanding job in taking care of our three dogs - 2 Mini-Australian puppies and one Great Dane. The dogs immediately took to her and hardly missed our being gone. I highly recommend Braelyn for house sitting with dogs. She understands their needs and was able to walk the puppies and even our 11 year old Great Dane. He was caring and the dogs seemed to love her.

I was encouraged by Rover to leave honest feedback on my recent experience with Braelyn. I will not be using her again nor do I recommend her to others looking for her to house sit, but she may be OK with drop-in visits if the timing works with her schedule. 1. Braelyn came by our house a couple of days before our trip so we could introduce her to our pets and go over everything needed. She was personable and asked questions and we felt good that she was on the same page as us in terms of what we wanted for our babies while we were out of town. 2. We left home to head to the airport and let her know when we left. As discussed, she headed over about 2 hours later and checked in with us and sent pictures. She was there for 3 hours (we have a Ring doorbell so I know exact times) and left for 20 minutes likely to grab food or something (no big deal, totally understand if errands need to be ran or getting food, etc). We asked that she didn't leave our dogs alone more than a few hours at a time (4 max). 3. She came back at 5:08p and left again at 6:15p. Again, no biggie, I didn't expect her to be there 24/7. However, I asked my boyfriend to check the RING around 10p to see if she had gotten back, and she still hadn't. I was a little worried because I did not have my phone on me and I thought maybe she had messaged me to let me know what was going on. We came home around 12a and I checked my phone and did not have any messages from her. I messaged her around 12:45a to check-in, but did not get a reply. She finally got back to our house at 1a per the RING. 4. When we got up the next morning, it showed on the RING that she had left at 4:50a, and she had messaged me at 7a with pictures of my dogs saying they were doing well. These pictures were clearly from the day before given she left at 4:50a when it was still dark out and the pictures were of our dogs outside in the sunlight. Again, figured 'ok maybe she's at the gym or at work because she mentioned she'd have to work once over the weekend and would have her brother stop by and hang out with them, so he'll probably get there soon'. NOPE. 5. Her brother showed up at 1:54p (so my dogs were alone NINE hours) and left again at 2:15p (only stayed 20 min). At this point I'm getting frustrated and concerned about my pets. We're 10 hours away by car on vacation, so I could not get to them quickly even if I wanted to. 6. At 8p, I reached out to a local friend and asked if there was any way they could take over watching our pets because we were highly concerned they were not getting enough attention. Luckily he was able to help, so I reached out to Braelyn and let her know that I would not be needing her to finish out the weekend because I felt she was not spending enough time with my pets and to leave the key under the mat. She responded that she understood. 7. She got to my house at 8:30p, responded to my message at 8:42p, then left at 8:50p leaving the key under the mat for my friend. 8. My friend watched them the remainder of the weekend, and during that timeframe, one of my dogs had bad diarrhea all over the kitchen during the night both nights. He has never had this issue before. 9. We got home Monday afternoon and all seemed OK until that night when the dog with diarrhea was pacing and eating grass and throwing up and having diarrhea still. Turns out he had eaten a good portion of this dog bed stuffing because he was left alone for so long and stressed out. We're lucky he didn't need surgery or had something even worse happen..... I know there are some wonderful reviews on here (that's a reason I chose Braelyn), so I'm not sure if she's normally great and we caught her on a bad weekend, or if most these people do not have RING doorbells and had no idea she was not with their animals more than a couple of hours here and there (for reference she/her brother was with our dogs for 8 hours total in a 31 hour period- 4 of which were overnight hours). I felt we had outlined what we wanted with her when she stopped by before our trip, and I also do not feel that asking someone who is being paid to "house sit" your pets actually spends a decent amount of time at your home with your pets. She was not paid for drop-in visits. I reached out to Rover and they were able to refund me for the two days/nights I canceled with her.

Braelyn is amazing! I was able to completely disconnect from the grid, knowing that she had the house & pets handled while I was away! Responsible and reliable, the dogs loved her and I would highly recommend if you are considering either pet services or in-home services.
