We will completely turn our days around, if that is what it takes to care for your pet with a level of attention and love, so that puppy or kitten won't be too sad to be without you. If you don't write to us using our name or signing your message with your name then we might not be a good match. For us petsitting is a service for which we pull out all the stops and meet your pet's needs with genuine care. We treat strangers as friends, but keep our professional attitude all the way to the end of each assignment. We treat your home with utmost respect, there will never be any concerns about us making noise or creating any kind of disturbance that might upset your neighbours or the equilibrium of your home and pet family in any other way. Your pets will be spoken with/to throughout the day, neither of us are on our phones for a hobby and our calls are generally limited to professional calls and occasional family calls. When walking with your dog, he/she will receive personal attention and not just walked around ignored. On rare occasions, when suitable we may collect another dog friend for a walk, so rare that we have only overlapped walking once in the past 2 years. For the overwhelming majority of the time your pets (dog, cat, tortoise...) will be treated like our own, but even better since they are yours. If you entrust your pet-family to us then we will treat them like we would our own. Your pets will be guaranteed a genuine caring relationship with us. We believe that communication is the absolute key to any appointment. We started house and pet sitting in Summer 2014 and have spent booking periods of 1-10 days and occasionally even 2 months caring for cats, dogs, chicken and fish (we look forward to other pets, too.) We have a list of pet-sitting references. We can make special deals for longterm petsitting clients, especially for repeat clients, who also always have first preference when booking with us. We take commitment and nurturing care towards our temporary pets very seriously and structure our working lives around the care of your animals. This often allows one of us to work from home and be with your pet as much as pet requires. (We frequently are able to work from home.) Jason is a professional glassmaker and works with several different glassblowing studios as well as for himself. His main hobby is Tai Chi for which he attends classes, as a student & student teacher, several times a week. Birgit is an artist-photographer and teaches German language in one-to-one classes and is in charge of the admin, website and social media presence for Jason's glassblowing business. ****** Regarding Christmas & Special Holidays, rates & why we petsit instead of leave town & celebrate: Rates somewhat negotiable, depending on your location. Our rates have risen in the past years in line with our growing understanding that the service we provide has value. Giving up some or all of our own Christmas / Special Holidays and taking care of Rover pets allows us to use our vacation days in a constructive manner, helping us create savings, and also leaves enough time to enjoy 3-5 hour museum visits every other day, something for which, during normal working weeks there isn't much time for. Birgit *** About our DROP IN VISITS: we spend closer to an hour with your cat, dog, rabbit ... 30 minutes seems too short to provide the animal with a sense of connection and company. We take animal souls and feelings serious. This is why our drop in fees are higher than maybe somebody else's. We will provide genuine company for your pet! Drop in visits are treated with the same level of care and attention as housesitting/petsitting stays. Both Birgit & Jason have received a background check for Rover and this means that you are fully covered (insurance through Rover & your personal insurance), no matter which of us is available to take care of your pet family! This is not available when you pick a dog sitter off-site.
