Attentive Care! One Dog at a Time.

Pet care experience

Hi everyone, My name is Bill and I've used Rover for the past two years for my beloved dog Frank who recently passed away. He was the best dog and I miss him terribly. In order to deal with the grief, I decided to surround myself with other dogs: fostering other Boston Terriers for a rescue and sitting for some dogs on Rover. Being a dog owner that uses Rover, I know what makes a good sitter and what makes a bad one. I fortunately met some great sitters on here, and not to focus on the negative, interviewed some not so great ones. Here's what I learned from Rover to become an awesome sitter: 1) I will not take more than one dog at a time. I've noticed some people use Rover and dog sitting as a way to pay for their mortgage. I'm not here because I need a second job, I'm here because I love dogs. 2) I won't leave your dogs out all day and ignore them. I live in a huge one bedroom apartment and I will take your dog on long walks and not keep them outside. 3) Even though I do work a full time job, your dog will get the attention it deserves. 4) I will email/FaceTime/text to show how your dog is doing. I might even text after to make sure your pet is doing okay. 5) As a dog owner, I know how neurotic I could get when I leave my dog with someone. I will do my best to make sure he/she is well taken care of. *Before I take any new dogs, I need to meet your dog in person for a brief interaction - to make sure we're a good fit and your dog is happy and comfortable. *ALSO, sorry to say, if your dog is extremely leash reactive (beyond the normal squirrel chasing and skateboard chasing, etc), I can't watch unfortunately. All I really care about is your pet's happiness! Any other questions? Feel free to email me.
