Pet care experience
Owning dogs my entire life I have found a true passion for man's best friend. I have been a service and therapy dog trainer for six years. I have taught dog obedience classes as well as done a few board and trains. I own two dogs, a pug named Bentley and a German Sheperd named Lena. I am an elementary teacher in Grand Ledge and dogs are not only a love of mine but a passion as well. I enjoy all dogs, big and small. I would be available for personalized dog training with an emphasis on obedience, household manners, dog socialization and more. Information Bill A. would like to know about your pet
I do not have breed preferences but in order for a dog to stay with me they must be good around other dogs and crate trained. Dogs that are spayed and neutered are preferred. House trained/potty trained is also an expectation. All dogs in my care must be up to date on all shots and vaccinations. All dogs will be in a crate at night to sleep and anytime I leave the house. Simply put, I expect healthy, social dogs!
A typical day
My neighborhood is full of sidewalks with little traffic. I live in walking distance to multiple parks including Valhalla Park which has numerous trails and ponds (if you want your dog to take a dip). I have an agility course in my backyard with a teeter-totter, jumps, and tunnel. We will go for walks/run play in the parks or enjoy the agility course in the backyard. Your dog will get plenty of exercise and play time and sleep well at night. As an elementary teacher I do work full time but I have the summers off. When I am home your not will not be crated and will get plenty of attention.
