Full attention and love, one doggie at a time.
Pet care experience
I started sitting/boarding dogs after my little guy went to Heaven and my neighbors asked. I've found it to be a win/win/win for all. I live in the Mission, first floor loft, near parks. For the elder dogs, there is a small park on the premises. I also work at home and have a close eye on their needs. Should anything require medical attention, I'm located two blocks in each direction from excellent facilities. Puppies are welcome if house trained. Thanks! Why I love dog sitting I had a wonderful cat for 21 years. After she was gone, I took some time to think about what creature I would share my life with. All I knew was that I would know when I met he/she. Two years later, Winston stopped me in my tracks. He was a puppy rescue resembling Charlie Chaplin. Believe me, he had acting skills. So, 12 years later, Winston's time was up. Afterwards, my neighbors asked me to watch their dog, Toto, while they were away. Toto's a little thing that jumps over 4' vertigal everytime she greets me. The feeling is mutual. That's when the dog sitting began. I've been having my four pawed guests for over a year. Everyone is happy. Meet my pets No other pets. Just love the mutual companionship. I mostly work from home. I have dog blanket (washed between, of course) and we walk and snuggle. I definitely pay attention to my guest's film reviews. About my yard My studio is in an artist's building that takes the whole city block. We have a small garden that is gated. It has a small slope and is about 30' by 15', with two large trees. Two blocks away is the City park, Franklin Square. I do not let my dogs off leash there, but the area is larger for a longer romp. My experience administering medication Pills, yes. Injections, no.
Reviews
Bijou took great care of our Japanese Chin! She was very detail-oriented and even wrote us a note about his stay. We hope to book with Bijou the next time we are in the Bay Area!
I'm writing this review a little late but I wanted to be sure to recommend Bijou's services. We used her for several days to board our dog Nugget while we were away. When we returned, Nugget looked happy and well-fed so we know that she was in good hands.
Pokie is not an easy dog to deal with as he's a senior and is very specific, but he was well looked over. Bijou kept me posted on Pokie's daily shenanigans and it is much appreciated!
Pixel had such a wonderful time with Bijou that she barely wanted to come home with me when I picked her up!

Meet and Greet is very important for all. Health history and Vet info. Feeding directions (staying with the routine is best). Walking schedule. Any special play activity. Breeds? Not too large. Otherwise, we've got an equal opportunity situation, as long as they are house trained. (Exceptions can be made.)
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks The area here has been so developed of late. Sidewalks are clean, Coffee places abundant. I avoid other dogs that are tied up. The near by park is great. Bernal Hill is not far. Dolores Park is near by. Very busy with dogs. Funston Beach is great when on 'off hours'. Generally, I will not let a guest dog off leash. Safety first. BTW, I am a registered Neighborhood Emergency Response Team member. Your dog's sleeping arrangement I sleep in my loft. The dogs sleep on the main floor area. I'm fine with them sleeping on my comfy sofa with washable chenille blanket. The first night a guest arrives, I sleep with them on the sofa. Usually 24 hours is enough for the dog guest to get that this is a safe place. Time I'll spend with your dog I work at home. The doggies are at my side full time.
