Sitter/Walker in Carter-Riverside!

Pet care experience

I am a top-rated and attentive pet sitter who works from home with two dogs who love company! I am available for last-minute requests. Please check out my reviews. RETURNING CLIENTS: I have been on a sitting hiatus and recently have re-opened my home to host your furbabies. I am now only taking one booking at a time but we love to see our clients again -- please contact me even if my calendar shows unavailable, depending on your drop off/pick up dates, we may be able to arrange something! Right now, I work from home so your dog would be with someone all day and all night! I have had dogs all my life, currently I own two fur-children. My reviews speak for themselves in the level of care your dog will receive while staying with us! INFORMATION ABOUT BOARDING: *Rover's bookings are in 24 hour increments, not by night. Pick up and drop off dates need to be within two hours of each other (before or after). If you need an early or late drop off or pick up, there will be a daycare charge added on that day. The amount of this charge depends on how much of a difference there is between the drop off and pick up, with a maximum difference of 8 hours between the drop off and pick up time. I do not accept drop offs or pick ups between 9 pm to 9 am. Any drop off or pick up is done by appointment and in 30 minute windows. Late arrivals/departures may need to reschedule. BOARDING DURING A HOLIDAY? Rover automatically applies the holiday rate to all the nights when you put in your request. However they only apply on certain date ranges. I will be adjusting the final price! *HOLIDAY RATES will apply on the nights of: MEMORIAL DAY- May 29th, 30th JULY 4TH- July 3rd, July 4th LABOR DAY- September 3rd, 4th and 5th. THANKSGIVING- November 22nd, 23rd, 24th. No pick ups or drop offs are scheduled on the 23rd. CHRISTMAS- December 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th. No pick ups or drop offs are scheduled on the 25th. NEW YEAR'S- December 30th, 31st and January 1st. *Christmas/New Year's boarding will require an overnight trial stay to ensure compatibility. EXTRA SERVICES: I offer various add-ons such as: BATHS ($10 each, with Oatmeal for sensitive skin or regular as the shampoo; if you want Furminator de-shedding Shampoo and Brushing, $5 extra) NAIL TRIMS ($5) PICK UP/DROP OFF ($10, up to 5 miles) for boarding/daycare (5+ miles are subject to additional charge) BRUSHING (free, please provide tools) Please inquire! I understand that dogs are always learning and I'll use any available opportunity as a teachable moment. I firmly believe that the best training you can give your dog comes from having a solid, caring relationship with them and communicating with them as the intelligent family members they are. I do not use any aversion techniques with my own dogs or my guests. The dogs in my care are given a safe environment, respectful and humane treatment, clear boundaries, and are rewarded for making good choices. WAIT- YOUR PET'S NOT A DOG? No problem! I love all things creepy and crawly! I have taken care of/owned birds, hedgehogs, turtles, tortoises, snakes, frogs, rats, hamsters, gerbils. Pricing will be customized for your pet and the level of care they require, please contact me! For walks or drop-ins, my travel is up to 3 miles from 76111 or the intersection of Belknap/Riverside. For Overnight Boarding, I encourage a meet and greet so that I can meet you and your pets. You will also get an idea of where your pup will be staying. But I understand sometimes things come up and if we do not have a meet and greet, assuming your pet fits the requirements, that will be fine! Intact young adults/puppies waiting to be neutered are exceptions. I am more than happy to meet your pets' needs with whatever they need to make an unfamiliar surrounding comfortable for them. This is why I ask for crates or beds, having a familiar safe spot will help the transition. SPECIAL NEED PETS: I am willing to accommodate pets that require special care due to age and/or other medical reasons. I have experience caring for diabetic, senior, blind, or deaf dogs.

Betty is very sweet and our pups really enjoyed their stay. She was professional in meeting us at a dog park prior to see how our pups would get along with hers. She kept things organized in her home and gave our pups ample playtime. I'd definitely recommend her!

I have been using Betty's services for awhile now and she is nothing short of the best. As a flight attendant with a busy schedule I am grateful beyond measure to have found someone so accommodating. My dog has extreme anxiety and fear of separation but Betty keeps her calm and comfortable. I always appreciate the updates and photos. I could go on and on! Thanks Betty!

Information Betty G. would like to know about your pet

I have no breed preferences, in my eyes all dogs are created equal. I need to know about any special needs your dog has, from dietary restrictions to behavioral concerns--I am very accommodating and will do my best to make the transition from your house to mine as seamless as possible and would like your help in understanding how best to do that for your dog. Please include the following in your care instructions and/or inquiry: - Food or environmental allergies - Toy or treat restrictions - Any history of destructive behavior - Any history of reactivity (such as barking/lunging on leash, guarding food or toys, or uncontrollable excitement) towards other animals or humans - Any history of separation anxiety - Any other special needs, likes or dislikes that I should be aware of Finally, I do require that adult dogs staying here be house trained. That said, I understand that in a new place accidents can happen and I can certainly accommodate an established potty schedule for younger, older, or medically needy dogs. In the case of emergency, I would like to have your veterinarian's information on hand.

A typical day

OUR HOME: We are a smoke-free drug-free environment. Our house was built in 1945 and very cozy! Our backyard is fenced off with three sides of 6 foot fence, but one side is the patio and the barrier there is about 36" tall and pups are never left outside unsupervised. ABOUT OUR AREA: Our neighborhood has a lot of shady sidewalks and nearby parks that your pup can go to. Just down the block is a fenced-in playground that I take my dogs to play fetch. We are very close to Ft. Woof Dog Park, which also has several miles of trails. Also next door to us is the Trinity Trail system, with dozens of paved trails perfect for walking, running or biking. PLAY TIME My preferred method of exercise is to walk or bike with my dogs, and if your dog loves walks, they'll definitely join in on the daily "pack walk"! If your pup stays at home with us, they can people-watch out in our patio or cool off in a kiddie pool. Depending on your pup, we can play tug, fetch, with a flirt pole. They can play with our dogs. While both pups go with the flow of our guests, Storm loves to wrestle and play chase but Harper prefers more gentle play. Your dog can pick who to play with! If they just want to nap all day, that's fine too. We have a quiet pup room outfitted with beds and a relaxing pheromone diffuser and beds scattered throughout the house with plenty of window views for people or bird watching.
