Not recommended for cat sitting. I am new the city and was really hoping to find a reliable person to do drop-in cat visits while I travel. This last vacation I was gone for a total of 6 days and scheduled 5 drop-in visits. On Christmas, I received a photo on Rover of ANOTHER FAMILIES cat at 6am and did not receive a correction until after 10am. It was a very stressful morning because I wasn’t sure if she had been visited, but because I was in the Christmas spirit, I chalked it up to a sloppy mistake and accepted the apology. It did shake my confidence. She communicated that Poe was meowing a lot on the final day. Due to flight delays I arrived home at 2am. All I wanted to do was say hi to my cat Poe and fall sleep in my bed. I walked into my bedroom which reeked of pee. My entire bed was covered in days worth of poop and pee. I looked at the closet with Poe (my cat’s litterbox) and the door was CLOSED! So Poe didn’t know where to use the bathroom for a week. My cat has never peed outside her litter box so I imagine this was stressful for her. She was meowing a lot to communicate she couldn’t access her litterbox. I did not ask Betty to change Poe’s litter, but I certainly expected Poe to have access to her litterbox! A seasoned cat sitter knows to check food, water, and litter. Sleep on a modest twin bed, but my soaked bedding and mattress cost over the $250 that I paid Betty to visit my cat during this time. It’s pretty clear Betty is more of a dog person.
