Join our family for the day!

Pet care experience

Hi! My name is Bethany and I have over 20 years experience raising and loving on dogs. I have grown up with dogs since the age of 9 years old. My family, at one time, had 6 dogs! In college, I became the mommy of Faith and have had her since she was 6 weeks old. Since then, Jake and Luke also became a part of our family. Together, my husband and I have 3 dogs and 3 kiddos (7, 4 and 1.5). It's a house full of love, hugs, and puppy dog tails. My daughters absolutely love dogs -- the more the merrier. We live in a wonderful home with plenty of space for dogs of all sizes to run around in or snuggle up on a couch for the night. We also have a large fenced yard with plenty of grass to lay in, a deck for the pups to sunbathe on, and toys to sniff. We hope you will allow your little one (big or small) to join us and feel like family in our home. My experience with dogs: I have 20 years of experience raising dogs, from puppies to seniors. I have experience in grooming (bathing, brushing, and hair cuts with clippers). Having a shih-tzu, I can whip up a top-not in no time. I have experience feeding dogs with special diets, from wet food to dry food, and dogs with allergies. I have given medicine both in liquid form (iron supplement) to pill form (heart-worm and vitamins). We love going on walks and I am comfortable walking dogs from little to big. However, playing, snuggling and loving is on the top of my list. From playing fetch out back to snuggling up on the couch -- I feel dogs play such a big part in our lives. They are not just pets, they are family. My dogs are just an extension of kids and I want to make sure your dogs feel welcomed, loved and a part of our family when they stay. Why I love dog sitting: I've been raising and taking care of dogs since I was 9 years old, I'm a dog lover and have always had a big heart for animals. A few years ago, we were asked to watch our friend's dogs and cats while they were on vacation and it all sort of started from there. We fell in love with having the opportunity to share our home with other dogs and providing the love and care for others while their families were away. In 2014, I heard about Rover and decided to join as a sitter. We have been thoroughly impressed with Rover and all that they offer pets and their families. When you stay with us, you are not just a guest, you are part of our family! Your dog will be treated like one of our own. Loved, snuggled, fed, and played with! About my yard: We live on .16 acres of fenced backyard with lots of grass to run around in. We have a great sized yard that our dogs enjoy playing in, laying in the grass, or sunbathing on the back porch. We also have a dog door, so our dogs and doggy guests can freely go in and outside to potty during the day. My experience administering medication: Over the past few years we have administered medication from pill-form to liquid. Heart worm to Iron supplements. Whatever your dog needs, I am more than willing to make sure he/or she gets it!

Bethany did a phenomenal job caring for Trodder while I was gone. She promptly updated me on visits, took plenty of fun pictures for me to see and documented thoroughly what happened each visit all the way down to what they played. I could tell my pup enjoyed her as well.

Bethany and her family really made our 2 Golden's a part of her family while we went on vacation for a week. We received photo's an updates daily. That really made us feel comfortable and kept us from worrying about them while we were away. The pups were always playing with their family dogs and kiddo's or taking walks. Our mud bugs even got a bath when it rained so much there was flooding in DFW and they got muddy in the yard. We would definitely allow our Cody and Daisy to stay again.

Such a wonderful family! This was a repeat sitting and they were very accommodating and were able to work us on short notice despite the unfavorable weather. I would recommend them to anyone.

Great dog sitter!! 2 of our dogs were sick and she managed to take care of them and kept in contact with our veterinarian. She sent messages and pictures everyday. I felt comfortable having her take care of our 3 dogs.

Information Bethany W. would like to know about your pet

During our meet and greet we love to get to know you and your dog(s). How are they with other dogs and kids? Are they potty trained? How often do they eat and when? Do they have any allergies? Where do they prefer to sleep? We encourage you to bring a special blanket, dog bed, or lovey from home. We are open to all breeds and prefer dogs that are small to medium size (no larger than 60 pounds) but we are willing to make exceptions. Bigger dog, but easy and laid back? We can see if they will be a good fit with our family. Due to my allergies with cats I cannot care for cats in my own home or travel-sit (drop in).

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks: We have a beautiful and dog friendly neighborhood. Our neighborhood has a local park, walking/running trails and plenty of sidewalks for a stroll through our neighborhood. We have plenty of other dogs who live here and enjoy evening (and day) walks as well! Your dog's sleeping arrangement: Your dog may sleep wherever he or she feels comfortable. Our dogs sleep in their dog beds and the Luke (the puppy) is in a crate in our room. Your dogs can sleep in their dog beds in our room or the Iiving room. Some owners have brought their dog's crates for them to sleep in and stay in when we are not home and we are perfectly fine with that as well. We want them to feel as comfortable in our home as they do their own. Time I'll spend with your dog: We plan to spend lots of time with your dogs. When they are here, they are part of our family whether it's just for one night or for one week. We spend most of our evenings in the backyard relaxing, grilling and playing outback. Our dogs and doggy-guests are enjoying the nice weather playing with dog toys out back, relaxing on the porch or grass, or lounging inside. Travel sitting is always something my husband and I enjoy doing. Travel sitting is something we get to customize with our clients based on their needs and the needs of their dogs. A typical travel-sit includes us coming over once in the morning, once in the afternoon, and once in the evening. We usually stop by in the morning (between 7 and 8 a.m.) to let your dog(s) out to potty, re-fill water bowls, feed breakfast (if needed), love on and give treats. I am a stay at home mom and can also come by mid-day for another quick hello and potty break. In the evenings (7-9 p.m.) we will stop by again to let your dog(s) out to potty, play outside (weather permitting), love on and play with and feed dinner. We can also grab your mail and water plants if you need us to. If you have any special request during travel-sitting, please let us know and I am sure we can make it work. Again, it's all customized on what you and your dog(s) need. We know they probably miss their families and want them to feel as loved as possible! Most clients love to see how their pups are doing and I am happy to send daily updates and pictures.
