Bethany became my dog’s BFF for over a year before I retired and moved. I have a pair of now two-year-old Sheltie brothers. Bethany came over three or four days a week for their evening feed and exercise. Sometimes they needed snuggling, sometimes walking, most often just supervised time to chase each other and burn energy in the fenced in back yard. She always took pictures to confirm she was there and let me know how they were doing. They were allowed into the backyard through a doggie door. One day they were gone when she arrived. We think they wiggled under the fence. She immediately alerted me at work. I texted and launched a neighborhood search party - Bethany stayed in the front yard in case they came back. One was spotted by her and retrieved just as I got home. Then she stayed and started canvassing the neighborhood in her car trying to locate his brother. Unbeknownst to us, he was picked up by animal control and spent the night in the shelter. He was chipped and we were reconnected the next day. Bethany played a big part in both pups returning home safely and we will be forever grateful!
