I got your pet— no need for a vet!

Pet care experience

I’ve taken care of animals since I can remember, and have always really enjoyed doing so. I have a passion for working with dogs in particular, but don’t get me wrong— I love all animals! I’ve had plenty of friends, family, and even neighbors rely on me to take care of their pets while they were out of town or busy with work or just needed a little break from their reality. I honestly enjoy being with dogs more than humans most of the time so I’m always ready for a play date with a pup🤭💕 My schedule is ultimately wide open so I can pretty much be there whenever I’m needed being that this would be my full time job and sole source of income. I love allowing the dogs I sit to be their own goof. I think it’s so important for them to be active and outside and just living their best lives. I just recently moved to San Antonio and I’m currently in an apartment, which isn’t my favorite in this setting. It won’t be for long! I make it work nonetheless, we have a super sweet dog park in our complex. I’m also always ready to jump in the car with the dogs and take on a change of scenery at a much bigger park for them. I love the Alamo Heights Bark Park because every single dog I’ve spent time there with gets in their own little groove, the dog splash pad they have makes most pups lose their minds in the best way. I try to take trips to the rivers that are fairly close by, or hit a cool and shaded trail with my new four legged friends. I wouldn’t think twice about allowing them to stay at my place with me, I don’t let the apartment setting slow me down. The company and joy that animals bring to the table is unmatched. I’ll go above and beyond to make the dogs I’m sitting feel at ease and at home, they’re more humans to me than some humans are— if you know what I mean. I’d also be willing to commute to their residence if necessary to keep the dogs company throughout the day-feed-bathe-love-walk and I’d even be willing to stay with them at night, crate trained or not. We could always cuddle until their owners return! Taking walks is a must if they’re with me, and they never mind. I just love a good routine that the owners leave for me to make happen with the animals during the day. They tend to do so well with structure. I’m not the least bit opposed to a vocal dog with all the energy in the world, that doesn’t want to leave my side. I can pretty much make anything work out, if it’s beneficial for your situation at hand. I’m here to make your life easier, and keep it dog friendly. The dogs personality coming out for the first time on day one is my favorite, they’re all so unique and cool and weird in their own way and I love kicking it with them. A client of mine even caught me on their in home camera talking to their dog throughout the day. I thought she was going to tell me not to worry about returning the next day, like “I think you’re sort of strange”— but she loved how I carried on conversation with them, and let me stick around! I just have fun with them, I let dogs be dogs.. and I love getting on their level with them!!!

We are so very picky about who takes care of our big boy. Bethany was kind, patient, and loving and everything we could want in a dog sitter. I wish I could leave more stars!

I have known Bethany for years. She is a hard worker and loves animals. Especially my two dogs that she has watched over the years! She makes sure they get all the belly rubs treats, plays with them and bath them too. I would recommend her every time!

Bethany is amazing! She really cares for the dogs she watches. She is attentive and communicative. She is very good about sending updates, including photos and videos throughout the day. Our dogs have loved going to her place! They recognize it when we pull up and jump right out of the car. It's comforting to know your pups are well loved!

Information Bethany D. would like to know about your pet

I’d like to be aware of anything that you do for your animal (special needs, medications, disabilities, certain behaviors) that I need to know so that we can stay on the routine your dog is used to and make sure your dog is comfortable with me as well.

A typical day

I love to tire the dogs out by playing fetch/frisbee in the park, or just staying home and walking throughout the neighborhood. I love taking my dog on scenic routes where we may run into something that really makes their curiosity tick, or just so they also get to see things other than the backyard. If you allow your dog to swim, I’m quick to hit the river and wouldn’t mind taking a swim with my new pal. The water is super clear and most of them love it on hot days! I have a couple of Bark Parks that are my favorites, and I base my favorites around the reactions of the dogs I’ve spent time with there. If the dog is younger/puppy I’ll teach them all the tricks and trades and reward them with love and treats (if you allow treats). I have brand new toys that I’ll pull out of my closet when my new pup pals come over. I love giving them a squeaky duck to chew to shreds so they aren’t tempted to target the base boards… if you know, you know. I really like the games that they have available for dogs now, like the ones you can put peanut butter in and watch the dog go nuts trying to figure out which slot it’s hidden in.. good for all the developmental jazz. I’m literally open to whatever— give me some of your ideas if you’d rather, I’m all for learning new things to do with them myself. One thing is for certain, entertainment is the way to their hearts. I’ll watch them run wild, and then bring them in for a little quiet time and watch them sprawl out on a cold floor to unwind, it makes them the happiest.
