Growing up my family always had dogs of various breeds (cocker spaniel, lab mixes, and papillons), so I am very comfortable around any breed/dog size. For the last three years, I have had and cared for my own dog, Peaches, who is a rat terrier, chihuahua mix, and for the last year Titus, a mini Australian Shepherd, has become part of the family. Peaches is an older dog (9) and a rescue, whereas I got Titus as a puppy, so I am very comfortable working with both older and younger dogs (both dogs are under 25lbs). I also understand the care and attention that rescue dogs in particular might need. Both of my dogs are friendly, active, and enjoy being around other dogs, and my fully fenced in yard serves as a great place for the dogs to run around. I own one medium sized crate and one large crate, so you would not have to worry about providing your own crate. I am a full time graduate student, and over the summer I will spend most of my time at home, giving your dog almost constant attention. I also love taking my dogs on up to two mile walks daily, so your dog would get plenty of exercise and outside time! Along with Titus and Peaches, I have two cats who are dog friendly and never mind it when other dogs come to visit. Several of my friends have dogs, and whenever they travel they have trusted me many times to watch their dogs, and the experience has always been positive!
