A tired pup is a happy pup!

Pet care experience

With both of our backgrounds, we offer personal and professional pet sitting experience. I, Beth, have been a dog owner since 1999 and have done countless pet sitting jobs with pet apps (Rover, Care, etc) and without since 2015. On the other hand, David has a few years of professional dog boarding/walking experience with a company in Cupertino, so we offer both sides of the equation. We're both comfortable with other pets as well (I have had many cats over the years) and have a huge spot in our hearts for senior dogs. Both of us have had practice administering medicine too. A typical day with your dog looks a little something like this (more or less): Morning: breakfast, first stroll Mid-day: chill time waiting out the heat for our second walk, play time out back (if able), puzzle games inside (with your permission and their favorite treats, it's a lot of fun and good mental stimulation!) Afternoon: dinner, longer walk Evening: cuddle time :) Armed with our fanny pack and their favorite treats, we aim for a minimum 2 mile walk each day. More or less depending on your dogs needs. Bonus points if there is a nearby hiking trail we can take them on! If there is a particular route they (and you) would prefer we take them on, we are more than willing to accommodate your routine and keep them on a more familiar path. We both pet sit full time so that we can dedicate our undivided attention to your pets. Only one of us will be staying there since we have dogs of our own (and therefore are very used to a walking routine everyday) but we like to switch off because we both miss our dogs back home too much :) Due to being dog owners ourselves, we understand what it is like to have an established pet care routine at home and we would like to follow yours as close as possible for both yours and your pups sake. Let's set up a group chat to share pictures and videos of the day! Our motto is "a tired pup is a happy pup" and we work towards exactly that. Throughout the day we will go out back and play fetch, chase or whichever activity is your dogs favorite to keep up the exercise. With your permission, we would like to bring some special puzzle games to keep them mentally stimulated inside. It is a great problem solving exercise for them and a ton of fun for us to watch how each dog uniquely solves the puzzle (pictures and videos will be sent to you of course!). And lastly, the nap/cuddle sessions sprinkled throughout the day while we wait out the heat for our next exercise :)

Beth and David are the BEST! This was our 1st time using Rover and we chose Beth and David as recommended by a friend. BEST DECISION EVER! Our dogs were so well cared for and they really understood their needs and went out of the way to make them comfortable while we were away (thanks for letting our giant lap dogs sleep with you, Beth)! One of our dogs is reactive to other dogs and they made sure to walk them in areas less likely to have others around and even followed a map of their regular walk. We got lots of pictures and updates that made us even more comfortable that they were happy and having fun while we were out-of-town. Beth and David will be our 1st choice when we have to be away from home.

Safety, trust & environment

We have a few do's and don't's that we follow at all times when watching or walking your dog: DO -keep them on leash at all times when away from your home -avoid other dogs and people while out (safe for everyone involved even if your pup is friendly, you never know how the other dog will react) -carry a mini air horn for safety reasons (worst case scenario for potential off leash aggressive dogs, have never had to use it) -send you pictures/updates (we know how it feels to be away from your pups!) -provide lots of love :) DON'T -take them anywhere new without your permission (public park, beach, etc) -bring anyone into your home, only David and I will ever be there -deviate from your care instructions -give them treats that you have not signed off on (our girl has stomach issues so we know how important it is to stick with specific diets) -let strangers pet your pup for safety reasons all around Your dog's safety and happiness is our number one priority, we want you to be able to enjoy your time away stress free!

Information Beth & David D. would like to know about your pet

We definitely do not have any breed preferences, we love all dogs! It would be great to know if they're friendly/reactive towards other dogs or strangers, so we know what to expect on walks. Any illnesses or medications needed? These wouldn't discourage us from sitting them, they're just good to know beforehand. Also, the fun things: what are their usual energy levels? Do they like to be pet a certain way? Any favorite toys? What's their usual routine? Favorite activities? Anything that will help make them more comfortable with new people staying in their home :)

A typical day

We go for walks everyday finding a new route each time. We would love to take the dog(s) with us and discover new paths around your neighborhood as well. If there is a particular route that your dog loves or feels more familiar with, we would be more than happy to stick with your routine. With your permission, we would love to take them hiking (leashed at all times) or to a secluded beach.

We do have recurring walks throughout the week mainly in the morning (7-1) so if your dog requires 24/7 care then we would not be a good fit unfortunately. We try to take them out for a stroll before leaving so as to shave off some energy before they're alone. During weekends, we don't have regularly scheduled walks so we will be with your pet more. I go hiking with my Mom every Sunday morning and would love to take your pup with us! If not no worries, David will hang out with them :)
