A home away from home!

Pet care experience

Let me shower your pup with lots of love while you're out of town! With a giant fenced in backyard, and a dog sitter who works from home, you're pup won't miss out on exercise and lots of hugs and kisses. While you are away, I will emphasize positive reinforcement and love with your pup. Treats and goodies are a must have when they come stay with me/I stay with them. I think a dog without something to chew on is a lonely dog, so I encourage owners to bring/show me their favorite chew toys and bones so I can make sure they always have something to do. A little bit more about me: I have dog sat all types of breeds for over 4 years. I also have taken in strays, nursed them back to health and found them stable and loving homes. I have nursed dogs back from Parvo, administered fluids/medications subcutaneously and orally, induced vomiting on curious pups who have eaten too much chocolate, and have a natural intuition for an animals health and emotional needs. Why I love dog sitting: I've always been an animal lover. I grew up in Wisconsin around horses, cows, goats... you name it. We got our first dog when I was in 2nd grade (a wiener dog named Elmo) and our next dog (another wiener dog named Oliver) when I was in 4th grade. Oliver just recently passed away having lived 17 years! He was a well loved family member and I miss him everyday. I love to fill my house with other pups so I can hear that clickity clack of claws on the wood floor again and have a furry friend to cuddle with. It brings back good memories. About my yard My backyard is completely fenced in and HUGE! It's just a big ol play area.

I wish I could give Beta 100 stars! She is the best sitter we've ever had. We haven't had good luck with sitters since we moved to Nashville and she just set our minds at ease. She is intelligent, intuitive to my dog's needs and extremely communicative. I had pictures and updates every day. When we came home from our trip she had washed all our our bedding and even cleaned the floors. I think our house was actually cleaner than we left it! We adore her!

Our Australian Shepherd Lola had so much fun staying with Beta! She has a huge back yard which was so good for a dog needing a lot of room to run. We would recommend Beta for anyone needing their dog to feel like they're at home!

Information Beta P. would like to know about your pet

I like to ask the owners a few question before I begin dog sitting: 1. Does your pup suffer from anxiety? 2. Is your pup "high energy"? 3. Is your pup an "escape artist" in the yard? 4. What are your pups favorite chews? 5. Has your pup had their monthly flea treatment? Please bring a kennel (very important-will not take a pup without a kennel), blanket ("familiar" favorite item), and chews to last your pups stay along with all their other goodies. I don't always use a kennel, but in strange place you never know how a dog will react. If they end up having unusual anxiety that I can't pacify with kind words and lovin', I put them in their kennel with familiar items, cover it with a blanket (except for one side) so it becomes a "den" and put on a noise maker. This helps pups feel like they can easily defend their area and helps relieve anxiety from unfamiliar noises and smells. Then I coax them out with treats and let them take their time smelling their new domain. I can have a high anxiety dog back to normal in about 30-40 minutes after their owner leaves. (Also, please bring chews! Especially rawhides. It helps keep them busy and their anxiety low) I have two spaces available in my home. If you have one pup and would like them to be an only child during their stay, please let me know and we can talk about reserving both spaces so they get extra attention. No breed preferences except I can't have any oversized breeds since my space is small. If your pup needs to be dropped off before 8am or picked up after 8pm I will need you to schedule dropping them off/picking them up the day before/after. I am more than willing to accommodate everyone's needs... but this girl has got to get her rest:) Please be prompt for all meet and greets, pick up and drop off times. Unfortunately, If you aren't prompt, I can't guarantee that I will be available. For drop offs I designate a solid 45 minutes where my attention is strictly directed at getting your pup situated and comfortable. Tardiness cuts into that very important bonding time. HOLIDAY RATES: $40/night Thanks for being awesome, considerate and all around amazing people. Can't wait to watch your precious pup!

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks I have a really friendly neighborhood that I would love to take your pooch on a walk around. East Nashville is a very dog friendly place and really close to the state park Shelby Bottoms! If you are ok with it, I also love going to the dog park by Centennial Park if the weather is nice. Watching dogs interact is one of my more favorite things. Your dog's sleeping arrangement That's up to you! I love it when they cuddle in bed with me, but if they are trained/used to sleeping elsewhere, just let me know! Time I'll spend with your dog As much as I can! I work from home 5/7 days a week. So I'm usually always around. If not, my sister lives with me, and she loves chippin' in! Time I'll spend with your dog As much as possible! I am at home most of the day... so I'm usually hanging in the office, bedroom or yard with your pup. Extra house-sitting services Yes! It is $10/each additional task
