Pet care experience
I have over thirty years' worth of experience dealing with dogs and cats! As the child of two veterinarians, I grew up surrounded by animals and have loved every second of it. Our family regularly dealt with strays, emotional or anxious animals, elderly and newborn dogs, and our everyday life for most of my upbringing was providing a loving home for these animals where they could grow, build confidence, and find loving forever homes for the rest of their lives! I carry this attitude with me into my pet services and treat each pet as if it was my own, giving it infinite love and care and understanding the individual needs of each and every pet. Professionally, I have worked as a dog walker, vet tech, cat/house sitter, and have regularly contributed to volunteer shelters in my spare time. I am more than comfortable with puppies/kittens/elderly animals and have experience training anxious and rowdy animals. If your dog/cat has particular needs (medication, incontinence, etc.), I am confident I can provide the care needed to keep your pet safe and happy while you are away. Currently, my wife and I have one dog, Clover, who is the light of our life! Clover is a lab mix that was rescued from an abusive situation in Texas, and came to us extremely wary, fearful, and anxious about humans. Now, she is a cuddle monster who loves hiking, playing with toys, snacking on carrots, and even snuggling with our cats on the couch! Clover is a road tripping champion and has traveled all over the western half of the US with us and loves to carry her saddlebags (full of snacks) up to the top of the mountain. In addition, we have three cats: Mikan, my golden orange boy, Lilo, our calico "runt" who grew up to be the biggest of all her siblings, and "Dorcas," our old lady we rescued off the street. All three love other animals and follow us from room to room- our home has a definite pack mentality and we love being surrounded by our animals. In short, your dog or cat will be safe, secure, and most importantly loved during our time together! There's nothing I love more than a happy fur baby, and I'm so happy to get to meet so many cats and dogs in my line of work! I can't wait to meet YOUR pet and support them with fun and engaging activities while they wait for you to come home!

As always, so happy to not have to worry about my doggo while I'm gone. Despite her reactivity, she's amazing with Ben (OK, he's amazing with her), and she's a happy, healthy girl when I get home.
Benjamin is prompt in responding to messages; flexible with timing, and caring with both my animals (2 year old Golden Retriever puppy and a senior cat). They are happy to see him when he comes to visit. I recommend him!

Both inside and outside the home, I will look at how your pet is communicating to me and ensure they are safe and well taken care of. In my many years of experience, I have found the more an animal receives gentle, kind, and patient guidance, the more it will relax and have fun on our walks and adventures. Safety is my number one goal and I treat your animal with the same level of care as a medical professional. Through Rover, you'll receive up-to-date notifications when I arrive and depart and I'll always be sure to provide as many pictures of your pup/cat having fun as I can.

Temperament: How does your animal get along with humans? Other animals? What sort of personality does your animal have? When are they most happy, or most anxious? Does your pet like pets and attention or does it prefer its own space? All temperaments are absolutely fine, I just like to prepare to give your animal the specialized care it deserves! Medical: Does your animal have any allergies or medications? What's your normal routine for "medicine time"? Your concerns: As a pet owner, leaving my animal in the care of another can be a nerve-wracking experience! What are your anxieties, if any? What sort of information can I provide via text/photos that will allow you to have fun on your vacation/remain focused at work while you're away from your pet?
A typical day
I love to hype up animals and get them excited at the start- we're about to go for a walk and have fun! I like to make sure dogs are engaged and keeping them safe and happy while they get lots of play. When dogs enjoy the company of others, I like to take them around dog parks when permitted, and when they prefer solitude, I like walking with them around nearby trails or sidewalks.

Availability
I am a graduate student, so I have a very flexible schedule and have lots of time to devote to your dog or cat! As I only have to appear in-person a few hours a week, the rest of my time is dedicated to making sure I'm available for whatever your pet may need. As a result, I can usually handle rush or even same-day requests- don't be afraid to ask!
