My name is Ben. I’m a 21 year old student at the Ohio State and have had a passion for dogs since my youth. At age 16 I worked at a doggy daycare, aiding in tending to a litter of puppies that had been unfortunately stricken with the parvovirus. I’m a certified service dog trainer and puppy raiser through 4PawsForAbility, an organization at OSU that trains dogs from their puppy stage to be service dogs for veterans and children with disabilities. The most impactful experience to my dog training, however, was Athena. In my time in college, I’ve spent an elapsed year long-term sitting for a rescue pitbull named Athena. Athena was rescued from Franklin County Dog Shelter as a 6 month pitbull with a myriad of issues, ranging from lack of potty training to fully developed separation anxiety. I looked after Athena for months at a time when her owner would travel, and she taught me incredible amounts of patience. Through our time together, I taught her important skills to help domesticate a very troubled dog, but more importantly she taught me that every dog is special in their own way and requires a personalized level of care and attention depending on their circumstances. All of my experiences have helped me learn to care for a variety of dogs and make me an asset to assist with helping you with your dog-sitting needs, whatever they may be.
