Ben - Downtown Denver

Pet care experience

Thank you for checking out my Rover page! My name is Ben and I am very glad to offer dog care services here in Denver. While in my care, your pet will be kept comfortable, safe, and properly looked after according to your specifications. I will always go the extra mile (or two) for your pet! A little bit about me – I grew up in San Diego, California and spent 10 years living in Chicago, moving to Denver in October 2018. My mother is a professional dog trainer so I am well versed in sticking to training, walking, feeding, and medicinal schedules for my own pets and others'. Growing up, I was responsible our dogs' walks, food, medicine, exercise, and extra care whenever called upon. My earliest pet-sitting experiences began around age 11 and now covers dogs and cats big and small, birds, rodents, reptiles, and amphibians. I specialize in dog care but am happy to consider additional animals if needed! I have extensive experience with elderly dogs and puppies, so if your dog has any special requirements, I hopefully already know how to accommodate them! Rover is not my full-time job but I do work remotely, so your pet is always with me while I am working. We live near Confluence Park in Denver and your dog will never have a shortage of fun places to explore on leash while staying with me. And you need never worry about receiving updates and photos as I am happy to provide as many or as little as you like. 😊 Married to the wonderful Jaime who is also a 5* Rover dogsitter! Booking with me guarantees you have two highly-qualified sitters looking after your pet. Every dog that stays with us gets VIP treatment. Jaime's profile is here: https://www.rover.com/members/jaime-c-i-love-dogs-in-denver/ I don't have a pet of of my own our home is dog-friendly. I typically block off certain areas while dog-sitting but do everything possible to make it a comfortable, engaging place for your dog to stay while you’re away. Important Notes: **I kindly request that you schedule a daycare before any first-time boarding request. I also require a single night of boarding for any first-time boarding longer than 4 nights. This is to prevent your dog from having any anxiety overnight and for me to learn their behaviors so they can be as comfortable as possible in our home! **Daycare Hours are from 7 AM to 6:30 PM. If you need to pick up after then please message me for an arrangement - happy to provide daycare for day hikes or ski days! **My earliest drop off time is 7 AM, if you need to drop off before then please book the night before or message me for an arrangement **I accept up to 2 dogs per night, please specify in your request if you want your dog to be the only one I am accepting **My latest pick up time for boarding is 8 PM. If you need to pick up after then please message me for an arrangement **Please bring your dog's food and bowls. You may bring their bed, a blanket, a favorite toy, etc! **I prefer not to have crates as there is limited space. Please let me know ahead of time if your dog usually sleeps in a crate so we can discuss ahead of time. **For a limited time, I am providing dog walking services for the Confluence area. If possible, please try to request 24 hours ahead of the walk so I can confirm it fits into my schedule! Thank you for considering me and my services and I look forward to hearing from you!

I’m not sure whose vacation was more luxurious - the parents’ or the pup’s! Thanks, Ben and Jaime, for loving on our sweet Lucy!

We are new to Denver and checked out Rover for a local pup sitter. Ben matched all the ideals! 1) Within walking distance of our LoDo apartment 2) Extremely courteous and responsive 3) Loves mini schnauzers. We will be booking with Ben and Jamie again!

My dog left his daycare with Ben super happy and exhausted lol. We could see he had loads of fun there and Ben also made sure he updated us of his activities throughout the day and sent photos as well. I would definitely recommend Ben for your dog's stay, he'd definitely love your dog and make sure they're happy and well attended looked after?

We had such a wonderful experience with Ben! It was the first time using rover for our 5 month old puppy, and that comes with its own anxiety. We needed not to worry. He was in perfect hands with Ben. He was easy to communicate with and sent us many updates through the day. Ben’s skill set and overall demeanor was perfect for our pup. He came home content after a day full of play! Would give 10 stars if possible.

Information Ben S. would like to know about your pet

Here are some questions I may ask you or want to know more about when booking with me: Questions about Rover: 1. Have you booked with a rover sitter before? 2. Has your dog stayed in another sitter's home with other dogs? 3. Has your dog stayed overnight with another dog in a sitter's home? Questions for dog walking: 1. How is your dog on his or her leash? 2. How are they around other dogs? 3. How is dog around children? 4. Do you allow your dog off-leash (whether to play fetch or at a dog park)? 5. How are they around bikes, skateboards, roller blades, etc? Questions for boarding/house-sitting 1. Does dog dig (whether on furniture or on carpets)? 2. Does dog get anxious alone? 3. Does dog startle easily? How is dog around loud noises? (We live in an apartment building and sometimes neighborhood noises can be unpredictable!) 4. Does dog eat human food? Beg while humans eat? 5. Does dog sleep in your bed? On other furniture? 6. Does dog shed? 7. How many walks do they need per day? 8. What time do they normally eat? 9. How many times do they need to go out or how often? 10. Does dog bark often? 11. How is your dog around house plants? We have a number of potted plants, so if your dog does not do well with plants, please let me know so I can move them. 12. Does your dog use pee pads? Unfortunately our building prohibits pit bull, mastiffs, chow chow, and very large dog breeds but I am happy to dog-sit your pet in your residence should your dog be in one of those categories.

A typical day

Confluence Park, dog park, walks near Platte River/Cherry Creek, fetch, and anything else we can think of! The path from Confluence to Mile High is a beautiful dog-friendly area to take walks down.
