DotingDogLoverGoldendoodleDiscounts

Pet care experience

UpdateOct2022: Still largely retired, but when I agree to take a friend's dog in, I'm opening up my availability for bookings via Rover as well. --- Aug2022: Leaving my profile active to honor existing commitments, but I'm getting out of the dog game. It's been a wonderful few years, but while I always treated it like work despite it feeling like fun, it's started to feel like work. That, coupled with the sad realization that the aging/laming process has most definitely come for me and my failing back, to the tune of like half a dozen falls and wrenches in the past nine months, kinda forces my hand into retirement:(. Many thanks to all who've left their fur babies with me:)! Cheers, :)Ben ------------------------------------------------------------------- (Discounts for Goldendoodles!!! (I'm looking to get to know some of them in advance of deciding to get one myself.) Hit me up:)! ) Doting dog lover. Dogs love me. I post bunches of vids and pics during stays to a private Facebook group so owners can follow as much or little as they like. Check me out: https://goo.gl/BJ8zFb I work at home, so they won't be left for long stretches alone. Your pooch will be able to be outside on a line as much as they want, and I'll take them out for a proper long walk in the woods or around town as you prefer at least once daily, as well of course for frequent block walks throughout the day. Happy to do other services like washing, clipping, etc. - just ask. Pickups/dropoffs/visits outside of Easthampton, outside of Easthampton: $15/hour plus $.55/mile. I grew up with dogs, and have had two great greyhounds as a grownup. I haven't had my own for a while because I travel too frequently. Enter Rover to save the day and let me scratch the dog owner itch so to speak;)! I work from home. I typically am with visiting pooches 24/7 save for the occasional quick errand downtown when it's not worth the hassle of loading them to the car or when i 'm biking. Occasionally, something might arise that requires a couple hours absence, but it almost never happens. I have a big crate for those cases where the dog would be happier in one when left alone, but it almost never happens - like once, ever. Usually, I just take them with me everywhere. All of my boarders receive tons of pics and videos of their pooches while they're with me. I typically do it through a private Facebook group because Rover doesn't do sharing vids well. I have an un-fenced yard, with a long line, and depending on the dog I let them have as much or as little time on the line as they want. When on the line, I stay in the sunroom with the door open so i can hear if anything arises, which never happens. Usually, they just want to be inside with me, so I go sit with them outside for a spell now and anon. I work at home, so I'm pretty much always around. Why is rover forcing me to write 25 words here? grrr grrr asdf asdf asdf asdf. Yard is not fenced. I have a line that I can let pooches hang out on for as long as they want, but I've found they typically don't want. They just wanna come back inside with me. I do off-leash time at the Westfield, Holyoke, and South Hadley dog parks. Dogs who come trained on an eCollar, I can take to the Northampton dog park as long as they come with their eCollars with them (it's an off-leash park, but there are no fences).

Ben is great with my senior extra large dog! Ben sends great pictures and communicates clearly. We will work together again, I'm so happy to have his help!

Ben has watched my dog Apollo many, many times. He’s incredibly communicative, and I never worry when my boy is with Ben. Between the many photos that Ben shares throughout Apollo’s visit to how happy Apollo is to see him, I know that my dog is in great hands.

Information Ben N. would like to know about your pet

The more info you can share, the better!. EG: - Meds? - Vaccines current? Tic/Flea protection in place? - Food / watering regime? - Allowed on furniture? - How are they with other dogs? People? Kids? - Anything special you're trying to train them on? Any special commands they know? - Emergency contacts? - Preferred vet or animal hospital? - Maximum pre-authorized emergency vet expense if emergency contacts can't be reached? - You tell me - what else should I know about your pooch?

A typical day

Lots of walks of all shapes and sizes. Typically every couple hours. I generally let the dogs choose the pace and shape of the walk. If owners are OK with it, I'll take them around in the woods by town pond, Nonotuck Park, Mt. Tom, etc. If owners prefer not to have their dogs in the woods, happy to just take them around town. Sadly, I can't really offer off-leash time out in the woods even if they're used to it with their owners, since I don't have enough rapport established with my guests (unless they're trained on an eCollar). I typically take them for visits to fenced in dog parks in Westfield and Holyoke for off-leash running and cavorting. I used to offer all first visits could be solo visits with no additional charge, but as we're coming out of pandemic (hopefully), I've decided to stop that practice because I'm seeing such an uptick post-Covid of people who need to find someone to care for their dogs so they can go visit family and friends. So, now what I'm going with is potentially shared visits, but I make sure that any dogs that overlap are friendly towards other dogs before booking. Open potentially to specially arranged solo stays if I don't have anything else already booked, though.
