Rover Ben has a true passion for dogs and really all animals. He has had a dog since he was a kid and has never been without at least one dog since. He regularly posts on social media adoption and/or rescue opportunities and in addition, fundraises for shelters or animal cruelty associations several times a year. The idea that a dog is without a home or is mistreated truly breaks his heart. I recently visited him in Atlanta and found out that he not only cares for his 2 dogs but was also caring for his daughter's dog. In addition, the neighbor's dog sits as close to Ben's property as possible as my brother can't help but take care of that dog as well. I think the most telling story about Ben is when his last dog passed away, he adopted (after several months), a senior dog that had been abandoned. First, there is no sadder story than a senior dog that has been tossed aside, but as a dog owner, I also know how complicated it can be to take on an aging dog. Ben did so with an open heart and we all watched this older dog flourish in her new environment. Ben has a true gift and a gentle heart.
