I'll play with and walk your dog!

Pet care experience

It's love at first sight for me with most dogs. In the spring, when all of the dogs are out with their owners, it takes me double the time to walk home, because my motto is "gotta pet 'em all!' I don't have dogs myself, but I lived with and cared for four dogs for one year. I have been pet-sitting on-and-off for the past fifteen years. I am currently available full-time to dog- and cat-sit. A dream of mine is to be surrounded by puppies (or other dogs), so I won't get nervous around dogs who jump, bark, lick, and nip. Doggy kisses are the best. I love fetch and running, but also curling up on the sofa with a book and a dog.

This review is honestly a bummer to write. Becca has watched my pets a handful of times previously, and she's always been okay. Unfortunately our experience this trip was really disappointing and upsetting. Becca seemed to really struggle with communication and judgment issues. This began on day one, when in the late afternoon she texted to ask whether she was supposed to have come in the morning. We were puzzled as to why Becca hadn't contacted us earlier if she was confused. Over the course of 12 days, we heard from Becca on only three occasions--once in response to a text from me asking if my animals were doing okay. Becca responded that everyone was fine, which is why when we came home we were really disappointed to find our home a disarray and a number of pet related issues. We're dealing with property damage that could have been avoided if Becca had just reached out. We have two sets of broken blinds; one brand new white towel covered in dirt and tossed on the floor by door to the roof; and a brand new bedspread discolored with cat vomit. Definitely some of this damage is from my own animals, but I'm really upset that Becca didn't contact me to let me know that my cat was vomiting or that my dog was breaking the blinds. Did she notice? How long was the cat vomit there before I got home? We also came home to find our kitchen counters covered in oil(?), the shelves in our fridge coated in mysterious white crud, and to discover that Becca had eaten some of the food in our freezer. Really disappointing overall given our past experiences with Becca.

Becca took good care of my pups, one of whom is senior, needs medicine three times a day, and needs to be carried up and down the stairs.

Becca did a great job with our demanding 60lb puppy June. She sent us updates and photos over the course of their four days together, so we never worried about June's safety. Thank you, Becca!

Information Becca W. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if they are skittish around new people and other dogs, and what that level of skittishness is. I would like to know if they have special medications or treats, or a favorite toy, and how long it usually takes them to use the bathroom on a walk, so it doesn't feel like the walk is too long or too short for the dog's ability.

A typical day

We will walk to Rittenhouse Park, Fitler Square, the Schuylkill River dog parks, or anywhere else! If there isn't too much of a time constraint, I try to let the dog lead the way. I love to play fetch with balls, sticks, and Frisbees. Nothing is too slobbery for playtime!
