I have been training dogs for over 13 years. I have worked at several large pet stores as their lead trainer as well as privately training, caring and boarding animals. I have also provided wrangling for Hollywood production companies. I believe that the best method of training is reward based. When training, it is best that all of the pets family be there for all training sessions. Everyone needs to be on board, especially with corrective training like not jumping or tearing things up. If one family member allows the bad behavior to continue, then the dog won't learn what is acceptable and what isn't.
