Offering 1-2-1 care for your family dog / cat

Pet care experience

Home boarding offers an alternative to kennels, especially for those dogs who would find such an environment stressful i.e loneliness, anxiety, minimal human interactions and socialisation. I offer a bestoke service, with the aim of replicating your dog’s usual routine as much as possible e.g daily walks, play time, feeding routines etc … tailored to the individual needs of your dog and your instruction - This will maintain routines and best meet the needs of your dog. YOUR DOG IS THE ONLY DOG BOARDING I only ever care for one dog at a time, ensuring your dog will be cared for individually. I am retired and I have no work commitments. I am at home during the day and night. Welcome Meeting It’s really important that I am a good match for your dog and you have confidence in me to provide the best possible care for your dog. A meet & greet before a booking affords both parties an opportunity to ask questions and to determine if we are a good match. It’s essential that your dog is happy and comfortable whilst in my care - Care instructions should be discussed in respect of feeding, exercise requirements, health issues, medication etc. Please share any behavioural or individual character traits that I should be aware of … do they pull on the lead, do they socialise well with other dogs? … all dogs are different, so please let me know. Caring for dogs is a real pleasure and certainly never feels like a job .. I am very fortunate that owners through Rover and private bookings, trust me to care for their precious dogs. I look forward to receiving your enquiries.

Barry was amazing with Dolly. She is a 10 year old timid cocker spaniel who is very timid and we wanted a one to one for her as she has previously been distressed when staying in kennels. Barry kept in touch throughout her stay with photos updates. Dolly was happy and settled and there is no doubt she will be staying with Barry again! It really puts my mind at rest knowing she is being well cared for.

I was so anxious about leaving Rigsby due to his previous history of being a rescue dog, however, Rigsby had a great time with Barry. Barry sent regular updates / photos which was very reassuring and eased our anxiety allowing us to get on and enjoy our family holiday without worrying . Barry is not only able to meet the care needs of the dog he is able to reassure the owners too. We would definitely recommend Barry as he is very professional and has good knowledge about dogs. Due to Rigsby past he can’t board with other dogs. Also when he returned home he was very settled allowing all the good work we have done with Rigsby over the last couple of years had not been undone. So yes Barry’s service met all Rigsby’s and our needs perfect in every way. Thank you Barry and also from your new mate Riggers.

We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful experience for both Stanley and for us! Barry was diligent, caring and competent from the beginning meet and greet right up to picking up Stanley on his last day. He sent us regular pictures and updates throughout each day which showed how much fun Stanley was having and really put our minds at ease, and enabled us to fully enjoy our holiday. Stanley was clearly very comfortable and happy there. We wouldn’t hesitate to have Barry care for Stanley again, and in fact will be planning further holidays around Barry’s availability! Thank you so much Barry, Stanley misses you (and your socks) already!

Cannot recommend highly enough. We were really nervous about leaving Reggie as we had never left him before. Barry really did put us at ease and Reggie had a great time! The fact Barry only cares for one dog at a time really appealed to us, this meant he got Barry’s full attention and plenty of walks. Will definitely be using Barry again
