Honest, reliable, and experienced animal lover, personal assistant and desktop publisher with a flexible schedule to care for your home and pets! I specialize in farm and ranch sitting! I enjoy working, and have a background in administration, human resources, and education. I have been in the pet care and house sitting business since 2002, which began as side jobs while working full-time. House and pet sitting allows me to work on writing, photography, desktop publishing and other creative ventures. Currently, we are without animals at home except our fish; however in the past, we have had dogs (Labs and Cocker Spaniel), birds, cats, and an Iguana. Our family tends to find animals that need rescuing. I have owned three rescue horses and have been involved in 4-H and other animal and sports related activities while I was raising my children. We have owned our home for 30+ years. I enjoy taking care of large and small farm animals, including horses, chickens, and goats; and, have experience in caring for farms and ranches. I am flexible with your needs; however, I stay nights in your home (if needed) so that your pets are cared for in their own environment. This is most comfortable for them. While at your home, I relish taking care of your garden and house plants along with your pets. To make you comfortable and secure, I have a form that will ask for information regarding water and electric/gas shut-offs, vet information, etc. in case of emergency. I believe in being prepared as in Nevada I have lived through earthquakes and fires. Additionally, I have been certified in animal CPR and first-aid. What to expect when I come to house/pet sit: • Arrive in the evening between 5-6 or in the morning between 8-9, sooner if you need me • Check to make sure pets/animals are safe and home is secure • Pick up your mail, gather any newspapers and bring in any parcels • Respect your privacy and energy efficiency requirements • Care for your home as though it were my home Services I offer (extra charges may apply): • I stay overnight in your home • Clean litter box • Feed and water pet/s 2X/day • Pick up your mail/newspaper daily • Take trash to curb and bring in • Open/close windows//blinds • Walk leash-trained dogs (extra) • Give medication/injections (extra) • Water plants (indoor/outdoor watering is extra) Basic rates are attached; extra services and/or additional mileage is extra

I've known Barb for years, she is not only a great friend, but a caring and loving Christian. She has always put others first and loves serving. Barb, watched my sister's dogs while she was away for many days and did a superb job. The dogs have many issues, including health, not trained, and just very high maintenance. Barbara Welsh has been dog-sitting for me and my Great Danes for about 15 years. She is a delightful lady. Responsible. Caring. At times she has had to deal with several feet of snow, brutal winds, and sick animals. There has never been a problem. I would highly recommend Barbara to care for dogs.
Whenever Barbara watches our animals, I know that I don't have to worry. We have 5 goats, a gaggle of chickens, a barn cat and two 'lil geriatric dogs. Before Barbara watched our animals, something unusual would happen whenever we were out of town that would cause stress, worry and fear for our animals and property. Things have always run smoothly with Barbara. She was even willing to learn how to milk our goats! She is not only very capable, but she is also professional and leaves the place in better shape than before.
