Experienced dog home boarder with council license
Pet care experience
I started looking after dogs overs 25 years ago and thoroughly enjoy it so much I can’t stop! Alway had dogs of my own but after the last one passed over the rainbow bridge at 16 I prefer to spend my time looking after other people fur babies. I have also fostered so may dogs over the last 10 years so I know how to handle the frightened shy aggressive ( they are only afraid) babies it’s only time and patience that gets you the little snuggle that breaks your heart my heart sings when this happens at last they understand what love is like. I have no dogs of my own but occasionally look after my daughters small dog.I have a Newcastle city council license with 5 stars and I abide by rules and regulations at all times ensuring your dog has a stress free and happy stay in my home
Reviews
Ultimate professional! Our dog seemed really happy there making new friends along the way!
Lovely lady who Reggie took to immediately. We felt very comfortable leaving him. Barbara takes her job seriously and was happy to answer all of our questions and reassure us. We would have no hesitation in recommending her and will rebook for our next holiday
Milo had a wonderful time with Barbara. She really helped reassure us as it was our first time leaving him.
Barbara was very quick to reply to my message to look after Kip at short notice. I would definitely recommend Barbara for providing a great service and would be more than happy to book Kip in again.

Information Barbara H. would like to know about your pet
it’s extremely important for me to know all about your dog. Do they get on with other dogs (I have council license for 4 dogs)) so usually will have another dog here so if they don’t get on with other dogs then I can’t accept them. Do they get on with people I don’t have many visitors but it’s better to know how they will react to them. Male dogs have to be neutered for me to board them ( as stated in my license) females don’t have to be spayed but should not be in season. Are they food aggresive do they likes going for walks do they like going out in the rain where do they like to sleep do they eat plants! I usually see their personalities coming out on the 3rd day they are here and the little things they do at home they will do here like one how liked to eat his food during the night. I soon understood what was happening but at first I was worried he wasn’t eating at all and one of the others was gonna get fat!
A typical day
Every day varies from the one before which having furry playmates over. The younger ones love to play with toys (which we have many) but they like you to join in otherwise it’s boring playing by themselves. They enjoy watching me go about my daily routine and can’t wait for me to sit down so they can snuggle up on my lap. We do go for short walks and long walks depending on the ability of my guests. Not many small dogs like the rain and cold but we always manage to miss the downpours and enjoy ourselves sniffing here and there ( the dogs of course) sometime in the afternoon is nap time and everything goes quiet for an hour or so until it all starts again until home time
