I adore Barbara. She was so in tune to my dog Charlie. Charlie a mixed a breed was so well cared for by Barbara. She is a dedicated dog sitter, who ever books with Barbara is one lucky person. she is wonderful and a true dog lover. Thank you Barbara.
I contacted Barbara as my regular dog sitter was unavailable. My dog (Bailey), who is afraid of many people given his pre-adoption history, adores her. Barbara speaks to him with a soft, comforting voice. She takes Bailey for numerous walks and lets him cuddle with her (his favorite pastime). Barbara also encourages Bailey to eat, as he is picky. Bailey is always happy when he comes home. As such, Barbara is now my preferred dog ...
Smitty is my baby and I was nervous trusting him with a stranger. He had a great time as I saw from pictures I received. I have a feeling the happy guy got a few more treats than at home, but he also received a comfy bed, an exciting outing including some walking and love at a warm caring home.
Lots of cuddling, lots of love!

About this sitter:
I returned to the Chicago area ten years ago from a long time in Berkeley and three years ago moved to a lovely apartment in Evanston. (It's late September 2016 as I edit this). It's in a dog-friendly building, in a beautiful dog-friendly neighborhood that's just made for lovely walks down tree-lined residential streets.

What Barbara would like to know about your dog
I'd mostly like to know all the special little things that make him or her feel happy; all those little rituals that dogs like so much; all the places they especially like to be scratched or petted; all the quirky little things that make each of our pets so special. As for me, I've had and loved dogs with wildly varying temperaments. My dog now is Scout, a wonderfully good-hearted and happy little Beagle who's very adaptable and friendly.
The breed of your dog doesn't matter to me at all. We had a miniature poodle when I was little, but all my dogs (until Scout, that is) have been large mixed breed dogs who were from shelters or were homeless. Scout and I welcome your best friend, whatever he or she looks like!
Also, I want to mention that senior doggies are very, very welcome. I know you might hesitate to leave your very old dog, but I have cared for four of my own dogs in their senior years. There's something special about the love one shares with a senior dog.
And more than one guest is welcome, too, if everybody gets along.
