My tiny bear was in excellent hands with Bailey!

We booked for house sitting to care for our two dogs - one an older dog who recently had surgery and is still recovering, and one puppy - and I'm very disappointed with our experience. The dogs were left alone for 9 hours, she visited for 20 minutes and then left again. A little over two hours later she had not returned (around 10pm), so I cancelled the booking and called a close friend to come care for my dogs, then booked with a different sitter for the remainder of our time away from home. That was hard to coordinate from 8 hours away, but we did manage it. Rover Support helped find the second sitter, which was a big help. We told Bailey a week in advance that the older dog would need closer monitoring due to the unexpected surgery, and she said that wouldn't be a problem, so I was very upset to see that he was left alone for such a long time. In addition, the puppy spent that long period of time in her crate, which is not what we wanted when we booked house sitting - we intended for her to be supervised with the sitter at home for most of the stay and not being left alone for more than a few hours at a time. It was almost 12 hours total that the dogs were alone and/or crated, which is not acceptable under any circumstances. We use Rover to give our pets a less stressful and more familiar schedule and environment, and to ensure they have plenty of personal attention and love. This experience was not anywhere close to meeting those expectations. For what it's worth, Rover Support was great in helping me with this issue, and the second sitter was spectacular.
