I am the owner of Better Pet Care; we are a small company that provides pet sitting, dog walking, and other services to the Southwest Austin area. I am the primary caretaker. About Me: Bailey Knight is a true animal lover at heart; she is passionate about all things animal including animal care and welfare. She shares her home with a variety of animals including dogs, rats, birds, and fish. She founded A Parront’s Love Small Bird Rescue in May 2016 and has dedicated a room of her home to many small parrots in need. Bailey began pet sitting professionally in May 2014 as an independent contractor and went on to open her own business, Bailey’s Pet Care & Services in December 2014. In June 2016, Bailey’s Pet Care & Services became Better Pet Care. Bailey grew up in a small town in North Texas and has lived in Austin since 2000. She is Pet First Aid and CPR certified, and has the knowledge and skills to provide supportive care to domestic birds of all sizes. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her animals at home, going on hikes, and researching the latest and greatest on how to best care for the zoo at home.

Once again, Bailey was great!!
This is actually a review for about 20 visits. Bailey is a warm, caring, very professional sitter, and is unfailingly responsive to humans as well as pets. She has been super patient with vagaries of our schedules and pet attitudes and I would recommend her to anyone anywhere any time.
Beau absolutely ADORES Bailey! I dread leaving my dog behind when I travel and Bailey is seriously one of the few people I trust with my dog while I'm out of town. I 100% trust her judgement when caring for Beau. She tolerates his quirks and gives him all the attention he needs when I'm gone. Plus she gives me multiple updates and sends photos too. I can't rave enough about Bailey!
Bailey took care of our two dogs this past weekend. I found her to be very professional and reliable - she adhered to the schedule we had agreed on. She was also friendly and courteous - she responded quickly to our texts. She sent us regular updates and photos, and the dogs seemed to have had a great time with her. I would recommend her and definitely plan to use her again!

I have absolutely no breed preferences. All I need to know is your pet's feeding schedule, any medications that need to be given, past issues with anxiety when the owners have left, general routine (how often the dog receives walks, playtime, etc). I require several forms to be filled out through Better Pet Care prior to service period.
A typical day
**Please note, rates shown are increased from Better Pet Care's regular rates due to Rover.com fees.** At Better Pet Care, we charge our rates by time. This allows you to customize the care your pets receive, and ensures that we are spending as much time with your pets as they deserve. Please consider the amount of time the daily chores take (feeding, cleaning litter boxes, potty breaks) when deciding the length of time for each visit; your pets’ one-on-one time will be the time remaining once the necessary tasks are completed. For dogs, we require a minimum of twice per day visits; for all other animals, excluding reptiles and fish, we require a minimum of once per day visits. This is non-negotiable, as we value your pets’ health and safety; leaving them alone for 24 hours or more puts them at risk for injury and untreated illness. BETTER PET CARE VISIT RATES ARE AS FOLLOWS*: 20 minutes————————————————————–$18 30 minutes————————————————————–$24 45 minutes————————————————————–$33 60 minutes————————————————————–$42 BETTER PET CARE WALKING RATES**: 10 minutes————————————————————–$12 30 minutes————————————————————–$22 *Visit Rates listed apply for up to 2 adult cats/dogs; please add $3 per additional cat/dog. For puppies and kittens under 6 months, please add $6 to each visit. For small animal/birds, please add $6/day per cage. **Walking Rates listed apply to 1 dog; please add $4 per additional dog. Rates listed are for regular walking clients only (2 or more walks weekly); occasional walking clients will pay regular visit rates. Better Pet Care will walk up to 2 dogs at one time, given that they have good leash manners and are not reactive toward other people, dogs, cats, or wild animals. BETTER PET CARE OVERNIGHT SERVICE: Better Pet Care understands that some animals need extra care overnight. Whether this is related to age, anxiety, or your pet just needs a cuddle buddy to keep them warm at night, we are happy to sleep over. Please book in advance for this service as our availability is limited. Our rates for this service start at $60/night and includes a stay-over of 8-9 hours, from approximately 10pm-7am. We will feed your pet meals, provide potty breaks, snuggles, and do other necessary tasks that the time allows. We recommend overnight service be used in conjunction with daily pet sitting visits to provide additional one-on-one time as well as time to complete daily chores that your pets and home require. Please provide us with clean bedding; we will bring our own food/drinks and toiletries as needed and will wash and remake the bed with clean sheets after our final night in your home. BETTER PET CARE BASIC DOG GROOM SERVICES: Better Pet Care offers basic grooming services while your dogs are under our care*, whether we are walking them or taking care of them during your travels. Please provide us your preferred shampoo, or we will bring along a hypo-allergenic, fragrance and dye-free shampoo to use. Leave us some towels you don’t mind the dog using and we will clean up the tub when we’re done! Bathing services: Dogs up to 30 lbs———————————————————$16 Dogs 30 lbs and up——————————————————-$18 Nail trims and Filing: Dogs up to 30 lbs————————————–$10 Dogs 30 lbs and up————————————$12 Filing after trim (no rough ends)——————–$6 *Cooperative dogs only.
