I have worked as an education specialist at a zoo where I get to work with all kinds of amazing animals. When I’m not at the zoo, I enjoy house-sitting as a dog care specialist. To say I absolutely love my job is a huge understatement of course, but there is nothing better than feeling the unconditional love of a dog. I love all living creatures of course, but I relish the one-on-one bond you can have with a dog. I’ve always had a natural comfort and ease around animals, and I learned from an early age that animals require responsibility, respect, and affection. I loved my pet reptiles and guinea pigs, but my childhood dog Barkley taught me that nothing really beats the love of a dog. Although I don’t presently have a pup of my own, I have fostered two cats, and adopted a retired police dog in the past. I’m still an avid dog lover and environmentalist, which led to my career in wildlife education and animal training. I’ve had experience dogsitting a wide range of dogs as well various home environments. My walks are energetic and fun, from walking and training a German Shepard, to jogging with a small terrier. I enjoy it all. Because I love being around dogs, this doesn’t even feel like work. Rather, I get to hang out with your adorable, fluffy fur baby. I am very organized and always plan ahead, so I have time to do all the things I enjoy doing outside of my full-time career. I’m extremely loving and detail-oriented and take my job very seriously. I always make sure the house is secure and safe before leaving, and always check if the dogs are comfortable. I believe in the leave no trace principle, so I will leave your home the way I found it, if not cleaner. I understand the concept of being a good guest, and I will love and respect your beloved pet as well as your home.
