I’m your doggie super nanny!

Pet care experience

When any of my friends or family need someone to care for their pet, I am the person they call. I’ve handled every type of dog - from hyper little Chihuahas and Basenjis, to big fluffy English and German Shepherds. I’ve handled senior dogs and puppies. I love engaging my furry buddies with fun activities like learning training games with the hyper ones, but I also fully enjoy taking it slow and going on meandering walks with the older buddies. Few things make me happier than seeing a dog relax after a fun day.

Azarel is one of the sweetest, kindest person I’ve known! This is reflected in her work. Our pup, Koba, was well taken care of and loved! Although it was for a short time, he felt at home right away. If you are looking for the best doggy care in the area, she’s the one!

Azarel took care of our puppy for a day, but that was enough for our girl to learn new things! While away, she sent pictures and videos and helped cope our anxiety while being away from our pup. She asked us for a list of things that we would need her to do so that the puppy can stay in her routine and she did exactly that. We would of loved to have her continue to take care of our puppy, but she sadly passed away :( even in that hard and dark moment Azarel made us remember that we gave the puppy a pretty good life and she helped us through the time we had her by sending videos and giving tips. She was very patient with our puppy and well always cherish her for it. We know she’ll do an excellent job with ANY puppy or dog that crosses her path!

Azarel was absolutely the best choice for our little girl, Cali! We had planned our trip before we got her so we were in desperate need of a dog sitter and we got the best one! Not only does she have experience with dogs, which she shares tips for our puppy, but she has a ton of patience with them! Our puppy was only 10 weeks and very hyper, but Azarel was patient and taught her so many new things in the 5 days they spent together! She was super responsible with our fur baby, but also sent us videos and pictures of how Cali was! I couldn’t had asked for a better person to trust with a new puppy. She works from home so I knew Cali won’t be alone and that brought a lot of peace while away. She went above and beyond and we couldn’t had enjoyed our trip without her! Azarel was responsible with the list we sent her, which she asked for, on how we feed and take care of Cali. We trust her with our little girl in a heartbeat, I’m sure you will too!

You can rest assured that your dog will be with me basically 24/7. One of the bedrooms in our apartment is outfitted as my office. If your dog is boarding overnight with me, it's a great place to set up his/her crate if he/she is crate trained and if you would like me to continue the crate training. If they aren’t crate trained or if you don't prefer it, they will basically have free reign of the apartment if they are potty trained. I am happy to potty train any dogs who need it, and I'm happy to fence off an area of the apartment to help achieve this. I have, for all my furry clients’ use, a large dog bed, food and water bowl, organic sensitive-tummy-safe treats (with your approval), and puppy-safe toys! If you would like your dog crated throughout the day, please bring your crate. Every room in the apartment is equipped with heating, so you can also rest assured that your fur baby will be comfortable throughout the day and night. Our living/dining room area has a very nice sliding glass door your pet can sit/lay down by to watch the squirrels and sun bathe for naps. But I am a very hyper person and love going outside, so your dog will have as many walks and jogs as he or she wants!

Information Azarel P. would like to know about your pet

A large part of providing a dog with the best experience is getting to know his or her pawrent(s)! Here are some questions I would really appreciate if you could answer for me: 1) What are some examples of desired and undesired behaviour? 2) How do you deal with undesired behaviour? 3) How do you reward desired behaviour? 4) Is your fur baby allergic to anything? 5) Is there anything I need to keep an eye out for? (i.e. do they zoom out of doors that open, do they secretly hate walks and just prefer to potty locally, etc.) 6) Does your fur baby have any triggers? (i.e. sounds or smells that scare them or elicit aggressive behaviour) 7) Does your fur baby have any quirks? (i.e. do they get the zoomies or barkies at a certain hour of the day, are they very opinionated about certain things, etc.) 8) Is there anything you would like me to work with them on? (i.e. puppies that need potty training, or basic sit/stay/lay-down training, etc) 9) Do you train with your fur baby and if so what commands/hand signals or body language do you use (so that I can keep them consistent!)

A typical day

I love playing catch or fetch, tug-o-war and playing games with dogs that train and/or reinforce basic tricks (spin, sit, stay, lay down, high five - you name it!). I live a short walk away from multiple parks! Although for safety I won't let your dog loose, I can use a long lead to give him or her a chance to get the zoomies out! My full time job is managing an e-commerce website for a small company, and I work from home. When you drop off your fur baby, we’ll go on a brief potty walk, then they’ll come inside to get warm. We’ll follow your feeding instructions! Every 1-2 hours I tend to get up and stretch, so it’s a great opportunity for a potty walk, or some fetch or tug of war or just cuddled depending on what your dog wants and needs. Lunchtime is for walks! Depending on your input and your pet’s capacity, we can walk for as briefly or up at an hour. The rest of the day is basically the same, until it’s time for you to be reunited :)

My full-time job involves maintaining a website. So I am at home all day with my two birds, a parakeet and a cockatiel. As it is I go on walks daily and distract myself every couple of hours with a bit of exercise. So having your fur baby with me for tug-of-war, cuddles, pets, tummy rubs and on walks will be awesome!
