I tend to stay on the same route with new dogs til their familiar with them enough to cross bigger streets, parks or go pass schools. I prefer to walk bigger dogs in parks where they can sprint with room and smaller dogs in mid day when there's slim crowds to prevent a chance of them bigger grabbed or stepped on by a stranger. If there is any important information medical or socially about your dog that would prevent it from being walked with other dogs or around certain areas, please let me know. For example a dog that is no good with strangers petting her or playing, I'd keep especially away from busy parks or routes with schools because to avoid kids that are more likely to try to play with a dog without asking permission.
