Pet care experience
Both Eric and I have had dogs the majority of our lives. Eric is the most familiar with various types of dogs and breeds. He has raised most of his dogs from puppies but has also had a rescue dog. Personally, I had a rescue dog growing up but have cared for the dogs of friends of my family over the years. We currently have two older labs - one extremely friendly yellow and a more cautious black lab and a new baby born in Oct 2022. We are great with administering medications and caring for dogs with special needs (anxious/reactive/elderly/rescue) as well as ensuring that any specialized diets are continued while they are here. Eric and I are a big proponent to the use of Meet and Greets ahead of any dog boarding booking. This gives you a chance to meet us and see where your pup is going to be staying as well as a chance for our dogs to meet each other. Introductions are always done in a more open space with everyone leashed. We then will bring out one of our pups at a time to maintain a calmer atmosphere and ensure that everyone is comfortable.

Once again Kingsley had the best time staying with Eric and Ayla! The pupdates were awesome, she really does get the best care when staying with them:) We will definitely be booking them again!
Ayla and Eric were amazing! Everyday they posted updates of all the adventures Kingsley was getting up to with her new buddies Odin and Freya. They treated her like one of their own and she was very at home with them. Very good with communicating and responding promptly through the Rover app. We would highly recommend them if your pup ever needs a place to board:)
Ayla & Eric were extremely understanding and flexible when my travel plans changed last minute unexpectedly, offering a full refund for the modified dates. They were very friendly, responsive, and sent photo updates of my pup ! Will definitely book again and highly recommend:)

Our home is located on an acreage with lots of space to run around/get exercise. Our deck is fully enclosed so we can safely let the dogs outside (with supervison) but the yard itself does not have a fence. We only set out food at designated times of the day (as determined by your feeding schedule) and ensure that your pup can eat in peace. When we go for walks, we can either take them out on their own or with our dogs depending on their comfort regarding being on leash. No matter the level of recall, we do not have the dogs that we board be offleash for walks on the trails. Instead, we have a longer retractable leash so that any dog with us can feel like they have the flexibility to sniff and wander without being fully offleash. We do this to ensure their safety and security with the hazards that can exist in the area (wildlife). We do not have air conditioning in the home but we have a really cold basement that we will utilize during heat waves so everyone will stay comfortable. Additionally, we have a kiddie pool that we can fill up and play in or head over to one of the local rivers to beat the heat.

We would love to know how your dog reacts to meeting new dogs on walk, any particular dietary or exercise needs, as well as any dos/donts for their care. It is also very helpful to know any commands that you may have so that we can continue their use during your pups stay as we have had dogs where their commands were in another language.
A typical day
When staying with us, your pup will have at least two periods of the day where they will be outside (supervised) so that they can play in the yard. We have a large fenced backyard with lots of space to throw a ball around/tug of war. On the weekends, we can venture a little further out and go for a longer walk or hike to a new location.

Availability
We both work from home, either full time or part time so there will always be someone at home to supervise and care for your pup. Due to this, we are able to provide more support in regards to midday walks, playtime or feeding schedules.
