Pet care experience
We are two young professionals living in the heart of Downtown Oakland with our friendly and happy corgi mix, Twix (2 yrs old). Avani works 5 minutes away by foot so is often able to come to walk Twix/other pups at lunchtime. We work true 9-to-5 's so we are home to take our dog for a walk in the evening and final pee break before bed as well. There are many parks/hiking areas close by which is our favorite thing to do on the weekends! We are active and adventurous but can also be content having a quiet evening at home. We are open to dogsitting all kinds of dogs with different personalities, but require that they get along with other dogs since we have our own pup and live in a very dog-friendly community. We are in a safe, dog-friendly apartment and neighborhood! Since we are in an apartment vs. a house, smaller dogs or calmer large dogs are ideal for this set up. We are also willing to travel sit on a case-by-case basis.

Cadence was well taken care of during her stay! Loved the videos and the pictures that were sent throughout the stay. It helped make the distance more bearable. Twix is also very cute and got along with cadence well. Hope to use them for future pet boarding. Thanks!
Our dog Lucy came home very happy from her stay with Avani. They took great care of her, took her on lots of walks, dealt with her medical issue and made her feel right at home! Avani was very flexible and easy to work with. We would definitely recommend her to our friends!
Avani and her boyfriend were wonderful hosts for my dog Taji. They bent over backwards to take care of her, and were able to manage my young dog's energy. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a responsible and flexible host.
I have no worries leaving my dog with Avani. She took excellent care of my pup and seemed to really enjoy being around dogs in general. I would recommend her to anyone.

That the dog is friendly/not aggressive/well-trained (no indoor accidents please) and is not a barker as we live in an apartment and do not want to disturb neighbors. When and how often your dog needs to go for walks and how they get along with other people/other dogs. Breeds we are NOT allowed to have in the apartment: Doberman Pinscher, Rottweiler, German Shepherd, Dalmation, Staffordshire Terrier, American Bulldogs, Chow Chow.
A typical day
We have a grassy courtyard and grass lined walk around our apartment. On the weekends, we take our pup to the many dog-friendly parks/hiking areas the East Bay has to offer! Your dog's sleeping arrangement Wherever he/she is most comfortable :) Time I'll spend with your dog I have a fairly flexible work schedule, so if during the week, we would be able to take your dog 2 walks a day and on the weekend, I would plan to spend as much time as possible with your dog! I will be at work and not in my apartment for a chunk of the day so your dog would have to be comfortable on his/her own for fairly long periods of time.
