Pet care experience
I’m a graduate student at Cornell studying Horticultural Plant Science! My passion is caring for living things whether it’s a plant or your pup. I currently have a German Shepherd named Kousa and she is my best friend! Dog obedience, agility, and trick/task training are some of my hobbies and I've worked with certified trainers at Buckeye Dog Training since Kousa was a pup to learn the best ways to communicate with her. I’ve taught her 20+ commands for 'party tricks', agility, and scent work and I may even be able to teach your pup a few things! I am confident in my ability to handle a wide variety of temperaments and dogs with behavioral concerns. I am familiar with handling reactive, territorial, nervous, anxious, and excitable dogs and know how to avoid/manage triggers to keep your dog neutral and happy. I've personally struggled with owning a reactive dog and will do everything I can to keep your pet comfortable! As a dog owner my standard of pet care is very high. I will provide care to the level that I would expect if my dog was in someones care.

For the days I show available I usually have some work or school commitments but I’m pretty flexible. We can discuss my availability and your expectations more over message! My schedule varies throughout the year as semesters change and my growing season begins so I won't have the same availability all year long.

Please let me know how long you have had your dog, their vaccination status, allergies, about any reactivity, bite history, or any emotional triggers. I would also like to know if they are escape artists. Let me know the general vibe of your dog and their daily routine :)!
A typical day
I take my own dog on walks up to 8 miles, visit the dog park, grassy fields for her to play fetch, and do plenty of mental stimulating games and will be just as dedicated to your pets! I will do whatever works best for their lifestyle! I can walk your dog around your neighborhood, take them to a park, Ithaca dog park, campus, or wherever you would like! It’s your dogs world and I’m just living in it! I’m a huge fan of mental stimulation (sniffy toys and training sessions) so I can also set up mental games such as rolling up treats in a towel or hiding them for your pup to sniff out. I always play these games with my own dog and she loves it! I just ask that you provide kibble or treats! If you would like I can also try to teach your dog a few tricks using positive reinforcement! If your dog is new to training this could be a lot of fun for them and boost their confidence!

Availability
I have a ton of personal experience with cats and other dog breeds. I’ve personally owned a small breed dog (yorkie mix) in the past as well as a cat. There’s always a few cats or a pup at every greenhouse I've worked in and even Kousa has worked as a greenhouse dog! I love spoiling the four pawed employees and will do the same to your pet!
