Hello! My name is Austin Freilich and I live in the Canton area, in the lovely Alta Brewer’s Hill (very pet friendly!) apartments. I am 28 years old and I work in Hunt Valley with a defense contractor called Textron Systems. My girlfriend, Michelle, works at Johns Hopkins as a Physician Assistant and grew up in Maryland. I have been here for a little over six years, so I'm pretty familiar with the area and all the fantastic dog-walking spots! I began my experience with watching dogs in middle school, where I would walk my neighbors Bichon Frise after school during the work-week. I provided basic training (potty, commands, and actions) and would happily stay overnight when requested. When entering high school, I FINALLY convinced my parents to get a puppy who is now their solution to the empty birds nest! Her name is Luna, and she is a fun-loving cockapoo. I helped raise her from her puppy stages all the way until now when I get graced with visits from my parents and her. During my freshman year in college at Miami University in Ohio, I proudly signed up to volunteer at the local animal shelter. I was provided different levels of dog training and had the ability to go on "doggie dates" and walk them around the college campus. I would also volunteer to clean the facility in order to ensure the animals had a safe, friendly and stress-free environment as possible in their temporary home. Last but not least, I had an internship at a wildlife rehabilitation center in Asheville, NC. It was a phenomenal experience that has given me so much joy and appreciation for animals. During the internship, I spent a lot of time overseeing and assisting with veterinarian surgeries and procedures. I administered daily diets and cared for up to 30 different animals at a time. It was an experience that I loved and will never forget!!! I aspire to own dogs at a later point in life when my budget is more allowing and when I move into a permanent home. For now, I am happy to fill in the gap by helping you to keep your dog happy, healthy, and well cared for!
