All breeds all sizes

Hi, my name's Austin, I live in Fremont, I'm a full time law student at UW, I'm engaged to the love of my life, and I have big fluffy german shepherd named Nietzsche (pronounced "knee-chee).

I've been caring for and raising dogs since I was a kid. We always had multiple dogs of varying sizes and breeds in my home growing up, and it was my job to take care of them. Feed, walk, train ...

What Austin would like to know about your dog

In order of importance:

1. Any behaviour issues I need to be vigilant of that the safety of your dog, myself, or other dogs or people. (I.e. is your dog aggressive towards other dogs or people?, Does your dog have important medical issue? etc.)

2. How would you like me to handle misbehaviour, should it occur while you're away? (people have specific expectations for how their babysitter handles their children when they act up while they're not around, so that the lessons they're being taught are consistent with their parenting model even when they're not their. It should be exaclty the same with dogs. In the event of misbehaviour, the most effective thing i can do is be an extension of you when you're not there)

3. Related to number 2: Are there any behaviour issues you're currently working on with your dog? (I want to know if there's something that you and Fido are presently working on, because I'd like to help. Whether that's actively working on training, or just making sure I'm not unintentionally undoing the progress you've already made by not responding appropriately to certain behaviours. Training doesn't have to take a break just because you're not there, and you certainly shouldn't expect to get back a less trained dog than you left.)

When Austin watches your pet

Some of my favorite places to walk near where I live in Fremont are around the older neighborhoods in the area. There are usually tons of trees and bushes for my dog to explore, and the neighborhoods don't have nearly as much car traffic so it's quieter and more relaxing. I like Woodland Park as well, because it tends to be less crowded than some of the other parks around my area. If I'm going somewhere with a decent chance of open space, I usually bring a ball chucker to let my boy blow off some steam. I'd be happy to use your ball thrower, or to bring my own if need be.
