Dogs LOVE my Irvington Farmhouse

Pet care experience

I am the go-to dog sitter for friends and neighbors. I have a large fenced in yard, three of my own playful dogs, a cat that I took in and bottle fed when I found him abandoned at 1 day old, who mostly likes to hang out in the front yard. I work from home so your furbaby will never feel lonely and will get lots of love in my care. I only accept dogs that are friendly towards other dogs and children. My cat typically keeps to himself when there are new dogs over. High energy dogs are my favorite! We love to play fetch, chase, practice with the agility jumps, and splash in the pool with the water-lovers. I also have experience with senior dogs and can provide them with a quiet place to rest and calming aromatherapy. My office is set up on my back enclosed porch where the dogs typically hang out all day with me. They will be able to go out into my large fenced yard to play and run off the zoomies. There are lots of squirrels to chase and ample toys for enrichment. My Aussie puppy loves to play chase and both of my boys love to wrestle. My son is 7 and we have had dogs all his life, but please no dogs who are not friendly with kids. He is very enthusiastic and caring with the dogs and will gladly throw a tennis ball all day. I have created this business in order to encourage his entrepreneurial spirit, teach him about money, business expenses, profitability, and the importance of creating an outstanding customer experience, and he is soaking it up like a sponge. I fancy myself a bit of a dogtographer, so I also love to take pictures of the dogs I’m watching. Expect a lot of pictures. You’ll have the peace of mind that they’re doing well and can see them play and interact with the others. I work from home practically in the back yard, and I am pretty much a homebody. My son is gone during the day through the week either at school or with his nanny, and most of my social life is within the neighborhood, so I’m never gone for more than a couple of hours. When you arrive I will make every effort to have other dogs secured. I like to make introductions outdoors where dogs don’t feel cornered and the territory is neutral in order to have a safe and happy stay for everyone. I attach an AirTag to all dogs in my care in the event that they do get out somehow. My gates are latched and secured, but sometimes when dogs are in a new place they may exhibit some different behaviors, so to keep them safe I keep a location on them. All dogs will be fed in separate areas to avoid any squabbles over food, and dogs can go in and out throughout the day as they please. I work with a certified dog trainer weekly with my own puppy and incorporate only safe and fear-free methods with all pets in my care. There are dog gates and doors throughout the house to separate the dogs when they need a break because different dogs have different energy levels - we all need a break sometimes! I work from home and rarely leave the house for more than a couple of hours. My preferred pickup and drop off times are before 7:30 am, from 12-1, and after 6 pm through the week and any time on weekends, but if those times don’t work for you let’s communicate and see if we can figure it out. I have a large fenced yard with a puppy pool to cool off, plenty of toys and balls to chase and chew, an agility jump to burn off some energy, and gates and doors throughout the house to separate dogs when they need a break and during feeding. I try to make introductions in the back yard off-leash so no one is feeling confined, so please message me when you arrive and I will get the dogs situated before answering the door. I also carry a $1M liability insurance policy above the Rover Guarantee. I work full time from home. My schedule is typically 8:30 - 5:30 M-F with an hour of lunch and playtime around noon. I can usually accommodate drop offs during the work day, but if we can schedule it outside of work hours that’s always easier. My back yard is fully fenced, and I have air tags I can attach to any escape artists as a precaution, although I’ve never had anyone escape. My house has doors and baby gates to separate anyone who needs a break as well as dogs who don’t want to be friends.

Information Audrey K. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know of any medical issues or behavioral challenges to watch out for as well as your dog’s typical exercise needs. I will also need to know that your dog is up to date on shots as well as your preferred vet in case of any unforeseen circumstances. I do not accept aggressive dogs because I have a child here - I do not discriminate against certain breeds, but please use your best judgement when it comes to your pet’s termperment. If your dog has had a recent illness please board with a vet’s office or consider postponing your trip as I will not be able to accept your dog. Illness will shut my business down for sanitizing and displace my other clients.

A typical day

We have a big yard and an old farmhouse, a couple dogs of my own that love to play, lots of toys including puzzle toys, chew toys, balls and tuggy ropes. When the weather is nice, we love to take walks and play in the yard. When it’s not so nice we keep it low key indoors with puzzle toys, chews, and comfy beds. I have crates available for small to medium dogs.
